This was a REALLY interesting story to me, as I loooovveee science. So I was wondering if anyone had any theories for the explanation??? Here's the story:
Villagers heard an explosion and saw a fireball that many thought was an airplane crashing near their remote village, located in the high Andes department of Puno in the Desaguadero region, near the border with Bolivia, according to a report from AFP.
Residents later complained of headaches and vomiting brought on by a "strange odor," according to health department official Jorge Lopez.
Police responding to the scene also became ill and had to be given oxygen before being hospitalized, Lopez said.
What could make them ill? Sulfur? Radiation? What!!
The story I saw on our evening news said that it was most likely the strong smell of sulphur, which has occurred before when meteroites crashed to the earth.

It would be cool if aliens were involved though.....hehehehe
Actually that metorite was a BIG chocolate coated ball of alien sewage! Yeah that is how aliens get rid of their sewage they launch it into outter space. It is called "Poo flinging!" They got this specially made catapult that rotates and this month it just happened to be Earth's turn to get poo flung at them.
Yeah... that is my story and I am sticking to it.
