Best wishes to you  and your kids.....

take care!

CinDee,

I am so glad to here from you!!! My children are 15,14,10,and 4. They are what keeps me going. Happy Birthday!!!!!!

Thanks for the message. Take care.

Hi,  thanks for the well wishes on my b-day. You are so right about children keeping us going, and going and going....... lol

Sounds like your kids are  old enough to understand and help you out. My kids have been so good to me. My daughter cooks when I'm not up to it and son is always getting me something. He refills my ice water and takes good care of me. I sat down and told them that I was sick and I needed their help around the house. They went from me doing everything to doing their own laundry, dishes, etc. They have been so good throughout this whole illness.

PS We even have some people here from the UK, maybe they will chime in soon.

CinDee,

My kids are great.... Always helping me with anything i need. My daughters that are 15 and 14 have grown into fab cooks. Sometimes, I feel like I am taking some of their childhoods away because on the days I can hardly go to the restroom, they have to take over, but I never hear any moans and groans about helping me, just love in their eyes and sympathy for my pain. I pray they don't inherit this crap.

Hope to talk to some in the UK, that would be great.

Welcome, Angy, glad to have you with us. I'm so sorry about you health problems bringing you to us, but, you will find  there is no one who will understand you better than this wonderful group!

Your kids sound terrific! It certainly helps to have your family understand your pain. Feel free to sign on anytime. I'm sure you'll get some more checking in tomorrow.

CinDee- Happy Birthday

Have a good night, and again, Welcome Angy

Hapy Birthday Cindee....Sorry its a late wish but darn time zone

Hi Angy- sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it. How are you finding the Humira?

Kids are very resilient , it is hard for us to watch our kids take care of us instead of the other way round, but its a life teaching as it makes them very compassionate human beings as they grow up. I have 2 girls (19 and 13) and a boy of 16.

Your marriage ending must have been very hard to bear, was it because of you being ill. A lot of men find it hard to cope with chronic illness.

Take care and hope to see you post again

Lisa

Hi Angy,

Welcome aboard!  There're so many good and understanding people here.  This forum lets you learn and laugh.

I'm sorry to hear of your circumstances, but happy for you that you have such wonderful children.

Also, just want to wish CinDee a very Happy Birthday!HI Angy, welcome to AI, so sorry to hear about your situation, keep strong, your kids are a blessing and they will never turn around and leave you like your hubby has.  I will say some prayers for you.  I have RA and fibro too so know how you feel in that respect, do you have a good medical team at least, that can be a great help.  Best of luck, Janie.
Angy, you have found a great place. This board is supportive, encouraging and full of information. Please reach out when you need to, like you just did.

I believe that RA reveals the truth about people rather than breaks relationships up. My marriage ended during my RA experience but simply because the reality of my disease revealed the truth about my ex husband, it revealed how selfish he really was, how other things were more important than his relationship with me. Eventually something else would have put pressure on the relationship and would have revealed the same. RA adds pressure to marriages and families.

So I too, am a single parent of a 5 year old daughter. It is tough as you know. But it does sounds like your kids are great and really pitching in and that is the reality of what they have to do.

My daughter is much more independent than other kids her age, she just has to be although she is inclined that way by nature.

Your kids will be fine and so will you.

But oh, do I understand what you mean about the rollercoaster.

Keep posting, keep reading. Vent, debrief, ask for help.

WELCOME I AM HAPPY YOU FOUND THIS SITE ALSO,  WONDERFUL GROUP OF PEOPLE ON HERE VERY UNDERSTANDING AND CAN USUALLY ANSWER MOST QUESTIONS WE HAVE. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU FEEL LIKE THAT WITH YOUR KIDS I FEEL THAT WAY ALSO WITH MY TWO, BUT REALLY WE SHOULDN'T WE DID NOT ASK FOR THIS DISEASE BUT WE GOT IT REGARDLESS AND I MAY NOT BE THE SMARTEST ONE PERSON BUT YOU SHOULD GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT NEXT TIME YOU ARE SOMEWHERE THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER KIDS YOUR KIDS AGES SEE HOW THEY ACT COMPARED TO YOURS, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOURS HAS PULLED TOGETHER IN THE TIME OF NEED AND ARE CLOSER THAN MOST, THEY SOUND LIKE VERY STRONG CHILDREN THANKS TO YOU BECAUSE IF YOU DIDN'T RAISE THEM RIGHT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE FOR YOU. SO SMILE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR CHILDREN LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS WORLD BETTER THAN THAT. SORRY THIS IS SO LONG BUT YOU GET SOME CREDIT FOR HOW THEY ARE.

BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR KIDS.

I am going through the same thing.  Right now I am staying because I have a 17y/o girl and a 15y/o boy and the boy says he will leave us both.  I am not willing to sacrifice my children for my happiness.

Mine may be slightly getting it, but I don't hold out great hopes.  I think once you have a little more control your kids will find their ground again.  Hang in there and love them with all your heart, soul and mind.

BTW I have been married for 19yrs.

Welcome to the board Angy. I am sorry to hear about your marriage. Like others have said it is hard for the other half to understand or even deal with it. Your kids do sound WONDERFUL and a GREAT help to you. I wish mine were, but they are only 2 and 9.

Hope to see ya around and posting more.

I'm so sorry about your marriage not working out. My husband isn't the greatest support for me, I think sometimes he thinks I"ve made it up just as another excuse to not "be with him."

My kids are awesome though. I have a 14yr old daughter, 10 & 7 yr old boys and a 1yr old daughter. The older kids really help out ALOT. I don't know that they truly understand what RA is, but they know mommy's hands hurt alot and  I can't carry around or hold my little one for long at all--so they're always willing to carry her for me. ( She does walk, so that helps now.)

Anyway...welcome to the board!

Welcome and it sounds like you have a lovely family.

Hugs,

Pip

Everyones here is right about finding out the real stuff of people when things get tough. You still have your wonderful family and that is so much. I am happy you found this board. There are people here in so many situations and always someone to understand and help.

Angry, I have asked my kids several times it they hate that some days I can do things and some I can't.  They don't seem to mind, and my son will not let me lift anything heavy.

It sounds like your kids are caring and responsible.  That is something to always be thankful for.  I am glad you have them!

Take care of yourself.

I feel so happy to have found you guys. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, you will be in mine as well. I am blessed to have my children and as several of you said about this disease bringing out the truth in people, I realize you all are right. He wasn't equipped to handle it and now I'm kinda stuck in the life he left behind. But you know I will go on and we will be fine. Thanks to everyone....... I will post again.... I love it here. You all are remarkable!!!!!!

He might come back. I think (some) guys want to fix things and when they
can't they have an incredible sense of frustration. He might be trying to flee
his sense of helplessness and frustration, more than flee from you. But I
don't know you or anything about your marriage so it's just a wild guess!
Welcome to the board.Hi Angy and welcome!  Sorry that you have to come here, but glad we can be hear for each other.
