I posted this in a diff forum btu realized I'd prob get a qucker answer here:

I had my first rheumatologist appt this week. She doesn't think its RA and she's running test for Lupus. She told me to make a FU appt in 3 weeks cause she wants to make sure all tests are back. Does it really take that long?

Hi Tash, no it doesn't take that long. For some reason we seem to have a shortage of RA doctors in this country, and they all are swamped. Is there an explosion of this disease? Are there no new doctors? I'm not sure but I also know they don't work 9 to 5, 5 days a week! you can call the office and ask why this is taking this long? and if you are in pain to do something for you until the results come in!!

Not unreasonable to know....good luck. LyndaThanks Lynda! I'll call on Wednesday. That'll be one week. She did give me Naprosen for pain but its not really helping.

Anyhoo, thanks for the quick response.

Hi Tash,

I am new to posting but I wanted to reply to your post. I agree with Lynda...There is a shortage of Rheumys in this country. It took me 6 months to get my first appt. I would call and ask why its taking so long and if they could give you something stronger for the pain. Let us know what you find out.  Best wishes and take care.

Thank you also for your reply. I will prob call in tomorrow for something stronger.

Thanks!Hi Tash, welcome and I hope you find relief very quickly, don't be too put off even if your bloods show nothing, you can still have this dreaded disease, they call this sero-negative.  All the best, Janie.
