Son of a crack whore!!!!!!

So... I call my new RD's office to schedule my Remicade appt and tell them my TB test was clear.

So... I was on hold for like 10 mins. Then she tells me the earliest appt they have is a month away.

Son of a crack whore!!!

So... I am like what am I suppose to do for the month I have to wait? I am only on pred... I have no refills on my Humira. What am I to do?

So... I get put on hold again!

Then... she comes back and asks what all I am out of, and I am like Humira, will be outta pred by then. So she said when I am outta pred to call back and they will call in a refill for me. I am still unsure about the Humira.

I am really disappointed at this point. I just figure nothing is every going to go right for me EVER! Why can't everything just go right the first time for me just ONCE!

If I am proactive, it bites me in the ass. If I just do not care about stuff, it bites me in the ass. I am at the point in my life, where crawling into bed and under the covers is the only that does not bite me in the ass!

Life Sucks!

Oh and now... our car is broke down again. Transmission went out. YAY!! NOT!!! So we have no car for the weekend and probably the beginning of next week.

Yeah.... I am just about ready to run away from home.

LIFE SUCKS!!!

Sorry life seems to be suckin so bad Joonie.  Can you get on a cancellation list?  Docs always have cancellations or if this is for your 1st infusion, there are always cancellations for those too, believe me.  And I would call for your refills at least a week before you run out.  It sounds like that office moves kinda slow.   Sorry, don't know what to tell ya about the transmission.  I know it's hell replacing one.

Just keep being proactive Joonie, sooner or later you'll get a bite out of their ass.

Wow Joonie. I'm sorry it's working out this way for you.  Binge had some good ideas.  Wish I could help you.

What planet are these people on? Why can they do that over in the states? I know we have a long wait generally over here but when you'e due your drugs you get them. Even my son gets his meds by courier if there's a problem/delay with the prescriptions.

Hugs to ease your frustration.

Joonie...I am so sorry.  What kind of car do you have???  It seems like it needs a lot of work.

You will succeed!  You will succeed! You will you will you will!

Thanks Everyone. I really thought I would get my first infusion at least the beginning of next month. Now ya'll see why I waited so long before I decided to take my Humira again. Nothing ever works out for me. At least I got 3 syringes of Humira left and need be I will take it every other week. Maybe that will get me thru to almost time for my appt.

Oh and you know my RD had RXed me 100 pred pills, well my pharmacy keeps giving me 75. So, if I run out of my pred before going back to my RD, she will not RX me anymore as in her system I am suppose to have 75 more pills left. And it is policy that they do not RX more meds until all the refills are out. But I guess, if I NEED to I can call my GP to RX me some pred. She already said she would. If I needed it.

Well, FIL is here trying to figure out what is wrong with the car. It is a 2002 Murcery Sable. I ALWAYS HATED that car! I wanted a Toyota Camery, but NO!

Yep! A Camary would have been better!  Sorry I am a car person.  Yep, drive the Sable off the cliff!

Oh and the worse part is.... We have been getting calls about renewing our warrenty, because it is almost up. Yeah... we are not sure if it has expired yet or not. Still if it has not it is a 0 deductible we have to pay, which we do not have.

Man... it just keeps going, and going, and going....................................................... ....................................
............................................................ ......................................
............................................................ ......................................

Joonie, if your pharmacy isn't filling the full prescription of pred, don't they owe you the 25 they keep leaving out?

I do not know. I would hate to have to argue with the pharmacy. I really hate my pharmacy, they never do right. Always screwing stuff up.

But I will see if they will give me my 50 pred pills they did not give me.

JOONIE I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY BUT

I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS AT

THE SAME TIME. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT YOU HAD ONE HECK OF A

HARD TIME GETTING YOU HUMIRA ABOUT A MONTH AGO. IT IS

UNFAIR IF YOU GET HIT WITH THIS MUCH BAD STUFF DON'T YOU

WISH IT COULD BE SPREAD OUT JUST A LITTLE SO YOU COULD

CATCH YOUR BREATH.

Now, I have to try to get my Humira to my house again if I have any refills left, but I am thinking that I do not as they have not called me to refill. And it has been more than a month since my last shipment.

Something else to do next week.

Sorry to hear you are getting f...... over like this with your meds AND having to deal with car trouble at the same.

I seem to have quite a bit of good luck with getting in on calling daily for cancellations for some reason - although it is a hassle to call daily when your hands (and mood) already feel so bad...

Good luck!

Joonie,

I feel so bad for you. I hate my pharmacy also. I agree with Binge one day you'll get a bite out of their ass!!!!!

Hugs for you misery

ok Joonie you said that either way you never win (sorry dont remember verbatim) well if you would have waited say another few weeks who knows how much longer you would have had to wait.  You have to do what is within YOUR powers do be proactive w/ your medical care. Quit the well it screwd me over either way so whats the use crap. Just do what you need to do and be done w/ it.  Call the pharmacy and say that they only gave you 75 pred pills that they owe you the other 25 and when you are through call the dr.  Its really not as difficult as you make it out to  be.

I have been calling for an appt since they told me if they did not call me with an appt by the next week after my appt (Aug 21st), that I need to call to make an appt. But turned out they got a new billing/insurance lady and she was behind by 2 weeks in submitting my PA's. So, I HAVE been calling to schedule an appt. I have been proactive. They are not always open at that location, she has 3 different locations she is at thru the week, so this office is closed 2 days out of the week. SO far I have figured that Friday is one of them days they are closed, not sure what the other day is yet.

Oh you have not delt with our wal-mart pharmacy. They have actual IDIOTS working there. They are always screwing someone over. So many people have changed from wal-mart to the other pharmacies around here. I am going to see about changing over to another pharmacy, was just waiting to run outta refills before I moved. I just have one more pred refill then I can move to another pharmacy.

and yeah it is as difficult as I make it out to be, you should give it a go. It is REALLY frustrating and then you get changed from one person to another and none of them even know what you are talking about. Yesterday I got changed over to 3 different people and neither of them knew why I was calling.

It SUCKS! Try it some time!

Joonie, you can switch pharmacies even if you have refills left.  Your new pharmacy will be able to call your old pharmacy and transfer your scripts, including all refills.  Most are glad to do it, as it is a small price to pay to get a new customer.  Up here, many pharmacies will give you a coupon just for transferring your script to their store. And the sooner you switch pharms, the less pred pills you'll get jacked out of. That one you CAN prevent.Ok well Im sure that they couldnt schedule you for an appointment till it was approved.  Cause if you werent approved w/ your ins im assuming you wouldnt end up doing the Remicade and its a waste of time.  So yea that one is not your fault....its policy...go figure eh?  Sometimes when theres a new person working in a new department they get a little behind...thats what happenes in the work force.  things happen that is beyond they're control.....And you are entitled to the pred that Walmart is NOT giving you....I dont get why you wont call and fight for it....And if nobody there can help you you keep trying and not just give up...Is that what your going to teach your children? THat it's alright that if something doesnt go your way or if its a little harder then you want it to be to just give up?

The lady on the phone told me to just tell them they owe me 50 pred pills when I go to get my next refill. Which will not be until beginning of next month. She said that if they question it when I call to refill and ask for my 50 they owe me to have them call the office and they will get it straightened out.

I admit I give up easily, but most times I learn from the giving up part and move on. It is just how I work.

I really would not care if my kids gave up. Their daddy is just like me, So they would get it honest. We hate conflict, we just rather learn from the mistake and move on.

Nothing is ever harder than I want it to be... I always think of the worse, that is truly not the worse. The worse would be if insurance did not approve it. Yeah... that is what I figured when they said it had not been approved yet when I called the day before, when they reminded me I needed at TB test. So... no I do not give up on things I think are harder, just things that I know I have no control over. What am I going to do, drive 60 miles and camp out on their front door step just to get them to remember I need something approved or that I need an appt? I mean calling 2-3 times a week for to check on something remind someone of something is way beyond being proactive.

I called 4 times in one week and 2 times the next week to see if they would fax me a copy of my blood work. Everyone of them I talked to said it was in the computer to fax it to me when they get it in. Well, when I talked to my RD, she said she would have my blood result back in the next day. But when I called the next week, they still had to got the results back, and did not until the end of the week.

I am STILL WAITING on my fax of my blood work report. Yeah... it is noted on my file in the computer. BLAH!

No, wal-mart will not transfer RXs, at least that is what I have been told. I tried to get wal-mart to transfer my Humira RX to Caremark when I had to change over, and CareMark even called for the RX and they refused to give it to them. Even after I called Wal-mart pharmacy to give promission and tell them I had to change over to caremark due to insurance.

Maybe this is just me, but if my RD said she would have my blood work the next day, I would call the next day. When I was told that they didn't have it, I would be placing a call every day there after, until I got what I needed. And that goes for anything like that where they don't "seem" to have the time for you.
Don't know the laws in Florida, but in Illinois they MUST transfer scripts under state law.  Perhaps it was because Caremark was out-of-state?  Try to go to another pharmacy in town and see what they can do.  Local stores might know how to deal with the Evil Empire.
They cannot LEGALY do that...It is YOUR precription...Call Walmart and talk to the Pharmacy Manager...They cannot deny a precription transfer
They cannot LEGALY do that...It is YOUR precription...Call Walmart and talk to the Pharmacy Manager...They cannot deny a precription transfer
Pharmacy laws DO vary by state... Florida may be different.

So if your pharm. is giving you problems, you can quote all of this, and ask to speak to a manager.

Well, that is what they did when I had to change over to caremark. I had to call my the RD to phone in a RX for my Humira because wal-mart would not transfer it to them.

I am a new patient... I do not want to act like I am a problem. I do not want to have to go find another RD. I am running out of RD's! I called 2 days after my appt to ask them to fax it to me. I called and called and called. I even called twice in one day! As one lady told me to call back if I have not recieved it before 3pm. So I called and reminded and all they said was it was in the computer to fax it to me and so and so was not there and to call back next week.

Walgreens has a policy similar to that Katie w/ narcotics.  You cannot transfer narcotics to a different location, well here in IL at least.  Right, but he said with pred you should never encounter a problem. It's just a base normal drug.

I will see if they will transfer my refills. I will be greatly surprised if they do, because of all the damn trouble I had getting my Humira transfered and still I had to have RD call in a RX to CareMark.

I forgot I have a refill on my Darvacet left too. And it has not been long enough time to call for that refill yet. SO... I guess I will probably have to let that one go. As I do not need 60 tabs of Darvacet just laying around.

Not like I take them for my pain anyways... Just when I REALLY need them and so far I have only took like 6 out of the bottle I have now.

But see Joonie, you're in a certain amount of pain all the time. The Darvocet is something that if you take it on a regular basis, everyday, just like it's prescribed to you, you would not have to live in so much pain, and it would help you cope with everything a lot better. It would only make you sleepy for a few days, that wears off as your body adjusts to it. If the dose is too high, then ask for a lower one. Or, I don't know what kind of pill it is, but call your doc and see if you can cut it in half. They're not giving you narcotic pain medication for nothing. Look at what a struggle most people have to get them. Someone is trying to tell you something, so maybe you should just TRY taking them on a regular basis. Try it for a month.Just make sure to take a stool softener and eat more fiber if you're going to take an opiate every day Yes! LOL That's a def.!!!!!! Hi Joonie, I'm so sorry for what you're going through.  I moved from N.Y. to PA.  My Rhumie said he would give me perscriptions till I had a new Rhumie.  Well it didn't work out that way.  I was without my meds for about 3 months till I saw my new Rhumie.  A lot of med's I cut in half.  Didn't work nearly as well for me.  I wish you good luck in getting your meds.  Pharmacy's and some Dr's can be such a--holes.  Forgive my language.  Take care and let me know how you made out.  God Bless.     Dotti51

Swell time you are having!

Hey Joonie, have you gotten your Pred switched over yet?No... not yet. I have to have a car to get where I need to go... and well... ours is sitting outside the shop waiting to be worked on. Maybe we will have time when hubby gets the rental car. you can call them and give them all the information about the percription...You dont need to go in there, they'll get the script from Walmart
