Hand Pain meds | Arthritis Information

What sort of pain meds are used for this hand pain that I'm having? It's very bad today...My Doc is not prescribing anything until blood tests come back next week....can anyone share what their doc's prescribe? Thanks a bunch!!

Heat also helps relax the hands and allows them to move easier

Heat works for me, but when it isn't enough, Lidocain patches (prescription) have been super helpful for my hands and elsewhere.

Good Luck

Aleve works "ok" on my hands, it works good on my feet and hips...just not as well for my hands. I agree with heat too. Sometimes at work I go in the bathroom and just run my hands under warm water for a while....feels so good-but makes me have to pee! gloves.  They really help!

You may already be doing this or may not find it as helpful as I do - but just thought I would throw it out there just in case, since it does help me a little when I want to really use my hands.

I poke holes (or get someone to help me do so) in the lidocaine   patches BEFORE taking the backing off so I can make them fit me more glove like and then add medical tape to stay put better.

Regards,

Melly
