Hola to all!

My husband, Mom and I retired to Panama in April from Austin, Texas.  It has been quite and adventure living in a foreign country. Just what we were looking for!  Now that we are somewhat settled in a condo in Panama City we are beginning to investigate the rest of Panama.  We just got back from Chiriqui province, which up near the Costa Rican boarder.  Panama is indescribably beautiful with all kinds of birds, plants, flowers and wonderful people.  One of our goals is to learn Spanish.  Panamanians are delighted when we try to speak their language and are so patient and helpful.

We have 4 grown children, and 2 grandsons (2 yrs old and second due in December).  Our "kids" live in Texas and Boston, Mass.

Since arriving I have been diagnosed with RA – my general doctor at the hospital clinic, that’s related to John Hopkins in the US, says there’s no doubt from blood test results.  I started with Advil and now am taking Celebrex 2xday.  I seem to have it in ankles, knees, elbows, wrists and fingers and some discomfort in the shoulders.  I think this has been going on for a while and has been gradually getting worse.  My husband and I started swimming 6 days + Tai Chi 3 days a week since arriving in Panama.  I think the activity is helping, but some days I have to force myself to go.  I really appreciate any advice anyone has for me. I love reading the Message Board and hear everyone's stories.
