gold shots | Arthritis Information

Has anybody here taken gold shots. I don't know if they still give them but I am thinking of checking it out. I need to get off the predisone. The other stuff I take does not seem to help. I have been in a flare forever it seems like. Thank you joanMy Rd said he has one patient still taking gold shots.  She's been doing it for years and just isn't comfortalble with changing.  He said that they are quite painful, have to be given at the office, and just don't work as well as the newer meds.  That's all I really know about it.The arthritis centre where I get treated still has a gold clinic, and I was offered gold as a treatment. My RD is kind of "into" gold and says she's had a good success rate with it. Knowing what I do now, I guess that seems a little archaic. Once I started a thread called "Gold therapy: so last year" and a few people came on and said gold worked great for them. I wouldn't try gold just because it seems weird to me, which isn't a very scientific reason. Gold is very "out of fashion" with modern medicine but I don't know if that's because it doesn't work as well as currently popular treatments or for other reasons.

It sounds like you've tried a lot of therapies and I wonder if you've looked into antibiotic protocol therapy (AP) at all? It works for a lot of people and you can continue to use prednisone while you're waiting for it to reach full effectiveness. There's a few people on this board who are using it successfully.
