So... I screwed myself | Arthritis Information

I screwed myself last night

I got all of my meds out by myself and did not even ask hubby for assistance. I even got the robaxin bottle open by myself. YAY!!

Then... I went and made some popcorn because I was "hungry".

Well... this morning when I got up to wake daughter up and go out and wait for the bus with her, I noticed my left ankle was hurting and swelled a little more than usual and that my right thumb was swelled and would not bend and hurt

Can ya guess what happened?

I FORGOT TO TAKE MY MEDS!!!

So, now here I sit stiff, hurting, swelled and tense, because I did not wait to take my meds like I normally do when hubby comes to bed. I usually have him get my meds for me and something to drink.

Now... here it is almost noon and I just took my pred... so my day can be considered shot! It will take 3-6 hours before it kicks in and then it will be a gradual kick in, not a kick in like pain meds and all.

Ok... so I suck... I could have SWORE I remembered myself taking my meds last night. I guess I got old RD's memory problems LMAO!

Seriously, I hope you feel better soon.

Hahahaaa Jesse!!

Now, when hubby gets home... I just hate to tell him.

I cannot write, my right hand is my worse hand and writing is just not something I do not think pain is a good reason for. I do not even sign daughters papers for school, I have hubby do it. But there are days he forgets and I have to sign them. I HATE it when I have to hand write a note to her teacher, it soo hurts my hand, fingers, and wrist. And most times the pens I can ONLY find are the papermate thin piece of crap pens! UGH!

One day I am going to write a note to her teacher in marker

Yeah... and here I thought it was suppose to rain.

Joonie, can you email her teacher, or call her?  Joonie, you need to get a signature stamp.

No, I do not think she has an email. I might be able to call her at school, they have phones in the classroom now. I just always forget what the # to the school is, as it is not in the phone book, because we get a different phone book than the people who go to that school, because we live closer to another county. I can google it though.

I have to find out what the phone # is again soon, as I have to inform her teacher she is to be picked up early one day in a couple of weeks from now. She has a dentist appt. And get this! She is excited to go to the dentist

I would be able to write. I am sure I would. I even had trouble writing when I was in high school because of my wrist not healing right. It does not bend nor rotate it is stuck in this one position.

Joonie you need one of those voice recorder reminder hickeys, say you're message to teacher, put it in daughters book bag, VOILA'

I think the computer is the answer to you problems Joonie.  Clearly you can type well, so type your messages to the teacher and print them out.  If you can't sign a form and your husband has forgotten, type a note to the teacher explaining that.  You can discuss it further with her if you need to when you go in for your parent/teacher conference.

As far as remembering to take your meds, use the calendar features on your computer.  Set an alarm to go off every day to remind you to take your meds.  Don't turn it off until you have taken them.

you guys have awesome ideas! I use one of those plastic pill holder thingies that has individual compartments - four per day. I fill it on sundays and then call in my refills mon mornings. easy to keep track that way
