No prednisone for 3 days, really dragging | Arthritis Information

Hi all, is 'getting off this dang prednison'  the cause of my lathargic feeling today? I've had a lot of coffee with caffeine but not perking up? Whattya think? Lynda Lynda, you beat me - I'm down to 9mg a day and my butts dragging.  It's the Pred. wean and it's going to take your body awhile to adjust.  Did you taper 1 mg. at a time?  If you tapered at 5mg. you may have lazy adrenals.  It just means they haven't started producing the amount of steroid that your body requires to function.  In some people they start functioning as soon as they taper off Pred. and in others, especially long term Pred. users, it takes longer for them to start producing.  I tapered too quickly once and got myself in a dangerous situation with adrenal insuffiency.  I'm not sure that my adrenals will ever start up and I may have to stay at 5.5 mg. of Pred.  Just take it easy for the next few days.  Lindy  LinB39351.5473611111

Hi, all and thanks for the reassurance it is just pred-lag, I've been feeling sleepy and this morning could barely move around. I decided the heck with it, I was getting in the car and driving around , if nothing else!!. Drove down to our beautiful waterfront by the bay, bought a cup of coffee at the French bakery along the boardwalk and just started WALKING along the dock near the boats, the peirs ,etc. and chatted with the city employees who were painting the pier railings. I started to feel better and better and went to the library for new music and a talk with our public works director at the City across the street, who is supervising a brand new park beside our bayfront!! It will be really beautiful, a bike path and a kid's skate board park and picnic tables!!and benches for everyone.  I got really excited. Talked to a friend who has an Irish Fisherman's Band , called "Three Sheets to the Wind" and he invited me to a concert in February, as he says I'm a good audience, which I am!!

So, you see dear friends, I shook myself out of the pred less-fog and I'll be patient as I get away from 'it'. Thanks for your encouragement. Lynda

Yes I've gone from 5-3-2-1 over several weeks, and now 0!! Hurrah

LyndaHi guys, I don't know if I am being silly or smart but I am trying to see if I can come off of my pred, I was on 10mg and over the last 2 weeks I have got down to 8mg, I can already feel the joints flaring but I really want to see how I go without it because of all the nasty side effects, I will try and take a leaf out of your book Lynda, best of luck, Janie. Hi, going down 1 or 2 a week is max, I think, I tried to go down to zero after I got the Remicade and the mtx, last week. Getting the most out of them before I tried. L
