Glad but confused!? | Arthritis Information

 

Just called doc's office about blood test of last week, nurse sez "all is normal"...they did "cbc", and full arthritis panel tests...she sez no RA indications!! Whoopeee!!!! ????but what the hell is this??? More confused than ever now....pain in right hand still bad, middle finger locking up frequently, mild pain in left hand, I know I have normal arthritis, but what is it?? Made app't to see doc again monday for explanation and hopefully scans or xray on hands to see what is going on...ah the joys of aging!!!!!

Oh heck, its not good when the results are negative and the pain still exists. Any chance you have carpel tunnel?Well all of my blood tests are always negative. So don't give up. If you feel something is really wrong, go with your gut! Keep seeing your doctor and eventually you will get an answer.

Don't think its carpel, I am going to definitely keep on doc to see whats going on...note I can't see an RA doc, cause there are none around here....but my MD is pretty sharp guy...later....

The tests don't always tell us what we know. It sounds like the stuff we all deal with, but you can search out an RA doctor or ask your GP to look into 'what's causing' that stiffness. Lynda

Don, nag the heck out of them!  Even if you do not have RA, it is nice to have you here, so hang around!
Did you choose the Hawkeye 2007 because of the movie and TV series Mash?  I love the series and even watch the reruns.  I knew the author of the books and my daughter lived in his house on the coast of Maine.

LOL no the "hawkeye" is cause my eyes are attuned to wildlife!!! I can always spot hawks, rabbits, etc etc before anyone!!!! But I loved the MASH series too>>>LOL..

The only med I take is nabumetone (sp?) for regular arthritis, and it does not have any effect on this prob with my hands...I've tried some over counter pain meds but again no help at all...see the doc again monday and going to grill him hard about this...thanks all..

Most of us have started out on Plaquenil (I did) then went to methotrexate only 10mgs, which was enough for me to maintain my illness for years and years. During flares I'd up the mtx. The Remicade is more recent because of an pneumonis an operation, etc. I'm really hoping to either extend the time between Rem infusions, and reduce the mtx (maybe by 1/2!) That's my goal. Lynda
