Hello everybody, I thought one of us aussies should start the talk today. Feeling good today.had 1st enbrel shot last friday and havent limped all week. I still cant believe it. I have been limping for nearly 5 years so it sort of became part of me. not anymore (YAY). The sun is out and my rainbow lorikeets are talking away. I hope everybody else has a good day today. I'm on day 4 of no prednisone, and feeling somewhat achy in my neck and spine? This is new. Oh well, I'm not going back on it, I'll take something else. Does anyone have a suggestion? Lynda

Lynda, how long were you on prednisone? My nutty Rummy Dr, who I won't be going back to, put me on 7.5 mg of prednisone Sept 5th. It has helped somewhat. But not completely. I'm still swollen somewhat in my ankle and feet. Since I've never been on prednisone before, I'm not sure if its working or not. Since I still have some swelling. I'll be going to my family Dr on the 1st, for him to help me find a new Rummy Dr..... Hope everyone has a good day!! I'm off to the dentist, YUCK.

My daughter applied for a job yesterday, and my husband is interviewing for a new posistion today. Nothing that exciting on tap for me. Got a football game tonight. Getting my haircut tomorrow. Yup, the excitement never stops. But I will be seeing my son on Monday that is excitement enough to last and last and last. I dreamed about seeing him during the night and I woke up at 4:15 am with happy tears in my eyes.

Well my laptop crashed this morning so I am stealing away a few minutes on my son's computer to check in. Repairman is coming out to fix it tomorrow afternoon.
Went to the theatre to work the volunteer fair last night. It was a complete bust. A big waste of time, but oh well, I did get a tour of the new 200 seat black box theatre that is being built to open next year. It is going to be AMAZING! I can't wait. Our main stage theatre hold close to 1800, so if we have shows going on in both, it will really be a happening place!
Came home in time to see Ghost Hunters - it was a good one - not one of my top 10, but good. Anyone else see it?

just got back from Freak mart and Kohls. My husband insisted on buying me a lovely, new cushy robe. Pale pink, and nice. He also bought me a nice 'chamise' nightgown, also pale pink with a little bit of black lace at the top. (from Kohls)
I need allllll new nightwaear, after 'living' in my night gowns, robes for months after my heart operation, I'd like a whole new 'image' for him. He was such a dear and stayed by my side and washed my clothes, and sheets EVERY single day! He did everything for me....what a guy!! Lynda

Had a very easy going day today and just took my time doing the little bit I did around here. Right after the girls came home from school we had this incredible 10 minute hail storm with hail the size of nickles!! My balcony was covered in hail! There is one more band of severe storms headed my way and then it is done for the night (hopefully).
Have a cranky teenager...well crankier than normal teenager...since she found out there will be no homecoming for her since she has some pretty bad grades and we are only like 17 days into school!! 2 weeks of being grounded....no computer time on school days...2 hours a day on the weekend....one phone call an hour lasting only 15 minutes...and I go over her homework and quiz her on the things she is supposed to be studying until I see an improvement in grades. She is not too happy with us at the moment to say the least lol.
The truck is going to cost us 0 and will be ready tomorrow by 12. It is just so labor intensive to have to drop the gas tank to replace that internal fuel pump. The pump itself is only 6.
Bleh...we have no school tomorrow. But at least I do not have to be up at the crack of dawn lol.

Justin had a panic attack this AM - he had some trapped gas but it was in the same region as his original stomach pains, so he panicked. can't say I blame him, really. He woke me up and I helped him through it. It was a little scary, but after he thanked me and said he didn't know how I delt with panic attacks so often.
I'm at work cleaning up after the girl on the AM shift. DON'T GET ME F#*$ STARTED. I'm so pissed at her right now. By no control of my own I got to screw her over royally on the schedule though. Made me feel a little bit better, but still. hehehe

I think I finally got everything cleaned up from AM shift. 2 hours into MY shift. It's a damn good thing my half of the day is slow. She CALIMS it was busy busy busy, but our boss says every time he came up front, she was playing with her new camera, or playing minesweeper. Ya know, I play online too. I mean look at me now! But no one has EVER complained that I didn't do my shift work (and then some) I just don't understand some people. And she thinks because she's been here for almost 2 years that she's just automatically ENTITLED to everything on gods green earth. She should NEVER have to come in on a day off, she shouldn't have to change her schedule, she shouldn't ever have to go out of her way for anyone else, unless there's a huge benifit for her. And yet, she talks to Justin about how she's worried about losing her job. Um.......HELLO!?!??! REALLY?!?!? *smacks forhead*

Lizzie...I am sorry about your cranky teenager, but she's got to pay the consequences. Last year we ordered a bike frame for my son(BMX-KING), and I told him if his grades would not stay up...I would send it back. Well, the day he got it I checked his grades, and said enjoy looking at it, 'cause it goes back. We ordered it a month later and the grades were up from then on for the most part.

LIFE itself is hard and she simply can not give up on something because she thinks it is too hard. So she is even more upset with me now Do you think she'd react if she was forced to spend more time at school? Like for after school tutoring or something? I know I HATED to be in school during non-school hours. My mom did that to me once, and I got my butt in line real fast. LOL < =text/>_popupControl(); They do not have a program like that in her school. If they did, you can bet your bottom dollar her behind would be in it whether she liked it or not. I wish they did have a program like that. It's not like my district can't afford it either. Too bad the underclassmen dean hates my guts or I would go to her with that idea lol.
Is there a consequence of summer school? We have that here, and Brandon decided that he could skate after spring break...well the summer school application came(of course being a teacher, I had no intention of sending him) but I told him he has two choices get the grade up or summer school you will go. Well, he worked his butt off.
I always stop short, b/c I think especially at the High School level...are we going to be there if they do crappy workmanship on a job. NO! At some point it has to be theirs, and they have to pay the penalty...failing or taking the one they missed plus another. Although every district in the US has different "rules" for all of those. We have a program at lunch. The first thirty minutes can be used for catch up time. I LOVE that. If the kids want to go out they have to have the full hour, so if they have to catch up they miss that opportunity, and they HATE the program. (although my son's science teacher is using it as punishment, and it's not going to take me long to go to the principal on that one, b/c that is not what it's for!!!)
Ask her about her teachers and especially the ones she is having a problem with...it might be personality conflicts or the way they teach.

I have work I COULD do........or I could save it for another night when it's slow. It has no dead line....I think it shall wait. I'm not THAT bored yet, but I have a feeling on Friday when I have to work with the fake Puerto Rican I'll be JUST that bored. I don't like it when people PRETEND to be a different nationality. It's one thing to ebrace your heritage, and entirely another to run around making a fool of yourself!
My hands, wrists and neck are acting up; I'm also running a low-grade fever. Don't know if I've caught a virus or if it's a bit of a flare. No sore throat, congestion, etc... I'm gonna take it easy tonight. The boys are taking their showers. They had field day today, and hadn't had a shower since Tuesday. OOoo my typing teacher had a bun in her hair too! She was creepy and wore WAY too much make up. She had a thing against gum. It was a challenge each day to see which one of us could make it through class without getting caught chewing it. I won most of the time! But I did get caught once. I've never swallowed gum so fast. She'd check your ENTIRE mouth for it. She was NUTS!!!!TTYL!

She was in love with me and let me do anything I wanted, so I did not learn to type correctly < =text/>_popupControl(); I learned shorthand. But with my short memory I have forgotten all of it. Ewww teachers should not be hitting on students whether they are gay or not. EW EW EW. I would have done anything to get out of that class lol. EW!
I used to use shorthand in my first couple of jobs. I was pretty good at it too! I also used to use the machine transcription at work too - I liked it much better than losing worktime while sitting in my boss' office taking dictation.
I took a class in 1981 on the new, up and coming word processing - on a WANG - yeah you know I had fun with that! It was sooo different than what we do today.
Heck back then no one was out of the closet in our little town. I had never met anyone gay in my life and I just thought she was being nice
I used to do such stupid stuff when I was young, only God knows why I was never sexually abused. One time right after hubby and I were married I worked in a surveyors office. One of the men there , I was seventeen, just graduated and married, he was probably thirty and married...anyways he came to our apartment one day and I let him in! I knew this guy for only a month maybe. Said he was in the area and thought he would stop by and say hi. I didn't thinka thing about it til I told hubby later and he went ballistic! "You could have been raped or killed you idiot"! Man he was pissed!
And one time when I was pregnant with Breanna a car followed me home one night and I thought it was one of our friends and I jumped out of the car and started to bless him out because he tried to pass me on a curve,and a bunch of crazy stuff and this strange man jumped out and tried to make me get in his car and scared the holy crao out a me! I jumped back in my car and raced up the hill to my BIL and SIL's house and ran inside hysterical, and BIL came out of the shower naked, grabbed his pants and tried to chase him but we never did find out who he was. Wild huh? I swear this happened to me cross my heart!

In high school they tried to strong-arm me into a business basics class (typing, other assorted BS) but I steadfastly refused. I knew how to type (not fast), and I was going to grow up to be a geek, not a secretary. Not that there's anything wrong with being a secretary. But then again they didn't force everyone to take chemistry.) and automatically failed the semester.

MOANA Well, I can't wait to get my new platform bed kit tomorrow. It's like a double bonus... I get to work from home so I can be here for the delivery! The boys are very excited about helping me finish and assemble it. I normally sleep on my Aerobed on the floor (I have a 4-inch memory foam topper on top), but lately it is too damn hard to get in and out of bed!!! Man I feel old!!! My husband is laughing his @ss off at me. He tells me it's about time I realized I wasn't in college anymore.

I grew up knowing gay people, and fortunately was raised by a mother who was very open minded and accepting of their lifestyle. There was a gay couple that lived next door to me and they were so kind to me. I was lucky to have known them, and to learn to understand homosexuality. That was a rarity in the 1960's!
Now we have many gays in our life - friends from the theatre mostly. My daughter's best friend, her maid of honor is a lesbian. She came out in college, as most do, and it has been very hard for her. Her family has been horrible to her over it and it breaks my heart. I love her like she was my own child, and always will, no matter what her preferences are.

My little sister is gay; we all knew it even before she hit puberty, but she didn't officially come out until college. Of course my mother used it as another excuse to collect sympathy for herself (poor me, my daughter is gay) and thoroughly embarrassed my sister - so much so that my sister left town.

It has never entered my mind to disown my child or drop a friend because of their sexual preference, or color of their choice in a mate. I've seen it here in the south too many times though. My parents best friends daughter commited suicide in the 70's, all because she married a black man and her parents disowned her.

Well, I have been in and out of sleep for the last four hours. One vicodin is just not cutting it. I think I will take another...I'm at the four hour mark. Even though he Rx them for six hours. I am not going to try to do this for another two hours.
I just took a half a muscle relaxer. I didn't want to admit it today, but I pulled my neck really hard in the shower this morning, and it has caused one problem for me after another. I finally can't take it anymore. *sigh* I hope it fixes itself soon!!
