TNF Inhibitor drug in pill form | Arthritis Information

Motivated by the need to boost profits, Pfizer has suddenly decided maybe a TNF inhibitor used for AIDs patients might just work for people suffering from RA. (Sorry folks, I'm feeling all o' sarcastic and o' cynical this morning-to-me). Could an anti-TNF drug in pill form be coming to an RD near you?
This would be a very handy thing for those on TNF inhibition therapy!
NevermindLinncn39352.5789467593Okay, paying no mind!
Gimpy-a-gogo39352.5808101852I know.  That's why I removed it.  I'm sorry. Please forgive.  Okay...I'll remove my reply too, then. < =text/>_popupControl(); I am all for taking a pill instead of being a pin cushion all the time lol.  Unfortunately, you have to have that certain protein for this pill to work.  There is a lucky 1% of us out there that this pill work for.  As far as I am concerned....1% is better than 0%.  At least some people will get the relief they have been seeking and so well deserve.  Thanks Gimpy...GrammaS, I think when they cited 1% they were talking about the percent of population afflicted with RA. The pill will work on more than that, I would hope. I agree, if I was on an anti-TNF I would rather swallow than poke! Oh, and Thank you, Linncn! *insert smiley face* YAY!!  Linda and Gimpy will be friends despite differing political views.  Life is good. It's a win/win situation.  A win for the pharma and a win for people with RA.  I'll take a pill anytime vs. sitting for several hours being infused.  It they haul their sorry butts out of the red by doing this, so be it - I'll be the first in line. Heres a little addendum to the original post.

The update is rather old, so perhaps the trials stated as not yet begun have, in fact, already begun.
