weaning off mtx for a baby?? | Arthritis Information

i was just wondering if any of you have weaned off mtx to have a baby, and if so how did you go about it and how long to wean off it...  i just want to get an idea before i see my rheumatologist in a couple of weeks.  thank you for your time! Hi pjsmama, you don't have to wean off MTX, you can just stop cold turkey.
My RD said you should then wait 3 "moon cycles" before breeding (well, she
didn't use the words "moon cycles" or "breeding", but you know what I
mean). However, I've read people saying their RD only said it takes about 6
weeks to get the mtx out of your system. If it were me I would be better safe
than sorry. Good luck with your future new addition!thank you, gimpy-a-gogo!  i'm weaning off sulfazalazine right now.  so mtx will be the next thing.  i'm glad i dont have to wean off it... thanks for the imput!PJsmama - here's hoping that you have fun while trying to procreate (but that it doesn't take too long), and that you have a long and glorious pregnancy-induced remission!!!

thank you everyone for your good advice and well wishes...

i appreciate it!
