Abdominal pain? | Arthritis Information

I just had a shot of tranodol (sp?) and a CT for my inexplicable abdominal pain which has been really bad this week. I started antibiotics tuesday for a UTI but that has cleared up. My CT was fine of course, it always is. Anyone else have abdominal pain? I am starting to wonder if it is just more inflammation. I have had it for years.

Laker - I have terrible bouts of stomach or body cavity pain that last for hours.  My CTs are always normal too.  I went to the ER one time, and they said there is nothing wrong.  The rheumy says its the lining of the body cavity being inflammed.  Nothing new that I can add except alot of times I honestly think its gas.  I will do things like hang upside down over the bed, curl up in a ball and rock up and down on my spine, drink warm prune juice and see if a BM helps, anything to get the stomach/cavity pain to quit.  It's scary too because it gets so bad it feels like your insides are being crushed.  I have had it for years too.  Laker, I have had abdominal pain off and on for years.  I've been scoped from both ends,

How does one figure out what it is and what to do? I have seen my gp countless times for this and she always thinks it is diverticulitis and its not.

Laker

I don't know... I get this gut thing that just doubles me over. I am miserable for hours and then it gradually goes away over about 24 - 48 hours.

I finally decided it was due to stress, just like my migraines. I treat it with a hot bath and a muscle relaxant and then sleep.  That seems to get rid of it within 12 hours, and eases the pain too. Narcotics did not help.

Laker, I have never had anything like that but it sounds awfully painful. I do hope they find what it is for you and quickly.
