I was used to the Humira pen.  Then my insurance switched and now I can only have the syringes.  I'm nervous to use them!  Anyone like them and/or use them?

When I started Humira the pens were not available yet. So I've always used the syringes. I like them. I haven't tried a pen yet, but I've  played with a dummy training pen. On thing I noticed right away was that with the syringe you can control how fast the Humira is injected and slow down if it burns. I'm going to stick with the syringes at least until my hands get so bad that it is diffiult to use them.  Another thing I do with them is when I am done is I remove the grey plastic bat wing grip piece and put it in the recycling bin. It saves alot of room in the sharps container and recyckles more plastic.

Hi,I'm new here, and just started taking Humira for Chrohns, anybody out there on it for IBD? The Imuran has decreased my inflammation ALOT,but my GI wants me on Humira also,a Doctor I work with is also on it,ans swears by it,I must say,I do love the fact that Humira does not have any of t he sideeffects of Prednisone, but boy do t hose injections hurt, any suggestions,or do I just have to suck it up??

I am going tostart taking Humira soon.  Did you notice any side effects and have you gained weight form the drug.  These things worry me.

I have been on Humira for three months for crohn's. 80MG syringes every other week. This drug has helped me more than the others. I'm still learning the side effects. Sun exposer and drinking alcohol make me itch a lot, showers to a lesser extent. I get headaches too.
Now that I've fattened up a bit injecting is much easier. Pulling back on the plunger to see if I poked a vain is the hardest part. It can't be very common though because the pen dose not give that option.
