I am on 5mg. of pred daily and just receive cortisone injections in both knees.  Can this make me more hungry as I am absolutely starved!  What experience have you had with this.  Thanks!

Yep, steriods always mess with your blood sugar.  It is very possible.  Eat things that are high in protiene and you will feel fuller longer.

Take care...how are the knees?

Good luck.

How were the shots for you?  Have you had them before and did they work?

Yes prednisone makes you have a huge appetite - just don't cave into it or you'll pack on the pounds - something you do not want to do with RA!Shelly, the knees are wonderful and I feel so energetic. I guess it varies from person to person as to how long it will last.
And Robin, yes I have had the shots before.
Matt, I do realize that pred. will increase my appetite in fact I have gained about 30 lbs!  Geez, ole blimpy here.  Guess you could say that I have caved into it Matt. I love to cook...big problem for me but the family loves it.
By the way, the shots were totally painfree.  I want more!
Oh how wonderful the shots worked for you and were painfree.  Lucky you.  I hope they continue to work.  And Robin, they were given in the knees, but they helped my whole body.  Only problem, I am hungry!  LOL Wow great they helped the whole body.  Yay.  About the food I don't know I  have grown to like food dang it.  You can tell by the scale so I am of no help.

Yep, when I had my first knee surgery...I fought and fought against having the shot.  Second knee surgery, I had to drive to father's funeral got the shot...LOVED IT!

This knee surgery...went in saying is it too early for the shot??  How our perspectives change.  Yep, wish I could just have them in all the joints.
