Wrist replacment | Arthritis Information

Has anyone had a wrist replacement?  I'm  having one 10/25 and would like feedback on what to expect....how long was your recovery, pain?  all that stuff......thanks a bunch, trish

Best wishes with the surgery. I've not had it, just some ACL replacements, no fun but nothing like a full joint replacement.

For what it's worth, my mother had a full knee replacement and loved it. She was in extreme pain. No cartilage. Bone on bone. Now she does pretty much whatever she wants. I mean, her trampoline days are over, but you get the picture.

Hi Trish,

you'll be about 3 weeks ahead of me.  My wrist replacement is scheduled for Nov 15.  Its really tough finding out first hand information isn't it.  There just aren't that many people out there who have had them.

Good luck to both of you, prayers and hugs and all that.Good luck with your surgery, Trish...also to you Buckeye!Would it make you feel better to call it a "bionic wrist"? And then here that ch-ch-ch-ch- sound in your head that would play when the Bionic Woman would jump? And you could call yourself the 30,000 dollar woman (or whatever a bionic wrist costs---I have no idea on even a ballpark).

I have no idea why I felt compelled to post that---I'm just giggly today.

LOL

I hear the bionic thing all the time, evn from my doctors, the wrist will be my 7th joint replacement so I guess I am more metal than bone

Good Luck to both of you!!!!
