Good morning all.  I am barely awake, and have to get ready for Church soon.  I am hurting a little less, so today might be an ok day.

It is my daughter's 17th birday!!!  The roast is on, and everything is in place for now.

Talk to ya all as you get up.  Have a super, terrific, pain free day!!!

I just put a second coat of stain on the new bed; in the morning light I saw a few spots that needed a touch-up.  I won't be able to varnish it until 5:00 this evening.  Hopefully I can get a second coat on before I go to bed this evening, so I can use it tomorrow night!

My husband saw it this morning... now he wants one too (as explained earlier, we have separate bedrooms).  I guess the boys and I will be putting together a bed for Daddy next weekend!  He is currently using a bed that is 14 years old.  It was the first purchase I made with my first paycheck from my first "real job" after college... and it's seen better days!!!!  We've been meaning to replace it, but we always put it off until "next weekend" or "next month".  Both of us hate to go shopping for that kind of crap.
Morning......I am freakin sore as H*ll!!!!! Not as bad as I thought I was gonna be but ALOT worse then I was feeling last night....Not sure what is going on today, Kelsay is at my dads so not sure when she's coming home...
Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning all

Kelsaysmommy at least the sore had fun to go with it.

I am getting a different couch and loveseat today.  Yay.  My step sis bought these in april.  Then decided they needed something smaller for their new place and asked if I wanted them.  Free.  Heck yea because they sit up high.  I don't use mine now because I can't get off of it very easy with my knees.  Considered putting blocks under it you know like those cars in the yard with blocks on them.

                        GOOD MORNING EVERYONE

SHEWWee! I feel like I'm back to the land of the living thank goodness! The past two days have been really rough sick wise!.It all started with a huge sugar drop Friday evening. I know....the candy corn I consumed all day was the culprit

Hope ya'll have a great day today, it's a glorious crisp fall day here

Happy birthday to Shelly's daughter, hope ya'll have a great time today! Glad to here you're doing better this am.

Yep Jas I'd say it was time to get hubby a new bed

My whine for the day: My second toe from the big toe is THROBBING!

All in all not a bad though!

oops meant to tell Robin congratulationa on the new furniture

Off to do lunch, see ya all. Lynda

Ok so I uploaded pics from the wedding.. They are on my facebook acct and I will be getting them on my myspace acct as well...

The hurting less thing did not last long, and I did not make it to Church...which has not made for peace, but I have to take care of me first.

I have a lot to do and we have some present buying to do.  (Yep...she's gonna pick out her own.)  I've made too many mistakes.

Hola folks! I'm here at work, and I'm just FUMING over my co-worker. I'm not even going to go into it, because I'm off for the next two days and I just need to GET AWAY! >.<

And on another note, I think I'm PMSing. LMAO

Good Afternoon everyone, I'm a wee bit tired from my Christmas shopping yesterday. I feel like I could sleep all day, and I almost did, LOL. But I go quite a bit done, so I feel good about that. Now I'm looking around Ebay, I  LOVE Ebay!!

   Happy Birthday to Shelly41's Daughter!!

Oh!! Some neat news!! Our laptop fried......like FRIED the motherboard. It over heated. It's fairly old, but not ANCIENT. So we went putzing around on Amazon, and found out that the power cord for it is worth about . Neat! We're gonna sell it, it's still good. Then we see the batteries..they're all OFFBRAND and they're going for 0!!!! Ours is the original COMPAQ BRAND!! Who knows what we can list it for! So we're better off this way......LOL Who'd have known! Not bad for a dollar laptop Katie!

*thud*

I don't even wanna think about christmas with that comes that nasty naughty word that begins with a S.

Oh Santa still rules your house, eh?

It's that S word that is white and cold and some people for some unknown reason likes it.  I think those that do were all dropped on their heads when babies.

Yeah I live in FL. 'nuff said.

And yet I'm sitting here at work, blasting the heat, because the main building's AC is still set at something stupid like 68. Gah!!!

Wow..........

There was a wedding that was just held in our atrium at the Hotel..........it lasted about 15 minutes. I'm not even kidding!!! That was the fasted cerimony(sp) I think I've ever seen!!

I went to a wedding at our church like that once Katie. I usually cry at weddings even on tv, but this one was so fast I didn't have time to squeeze out one tear

Heck of a lot of trouble and expence to go through, and then rush through, was somebody hiding with the shotgun?

I can tell ya, me and Justin's wedding will be NOTHING like that. We're gonna do our OWN thing!

We'll probably get some strange looks and comments too....but who cares!

I can't wait for your wedding! I know Alice will be your Matron of Honor,

Alice???

ya know what would be cool too but since it doesnt snow in FL you might have a hard time w/ it but a carriage w/ bells on the horse and it snowing....

Robin::: Katie is a little OBSESSED w/ Alice in Wonderland

The church was already decorated for Christmas so that was a "good" deal on the cost.

Thanks on the Alice clue I was wondering.  lol

My daughter is planning on a cinderella wedding.  Or so we think.  We will make the cake I have it all planned out.  Castle for the top.  Round ball cake I will make into carriage.  Well that's the plans but subject to change.

Mo, if you can post a pic, my eyes will not only roll, they will literally pop right on out of my head!

YOU BUNCHA SMART ALECS! *sticking my tongue out to the lot of you*!

Be back later tonight.

Mo'Nana you better be here when I get back around 10pm.

Robin

One of Trey's friends had a cinderella wedding and wore a pink gown. My macho son, who hates weddings, said she looked like a princess.

Boo Brisen (my sister and I say that for bye) ain't that silly?

Kare did you bathe today?

Joonie Lord willing I will be here!

Yep, I hope to be here tonight, but I have had a steady stream of half of vicodin(actually only two halves) to make it through.

Is Tomorrow WEDNESDAY???? of course I have to check on the stupid insurance.

KATIE I love the Christmas wedding.  My husband had a license to marry, and I could convince him to dress up.  I would love that.  Ya know what you need is that pretty dress from the snow queen in Lion, witch and Wardrobe.  With the cape and all.

The only thing I know about Eleya's wedding is that it is going to be OUTRAGEOUS!  She is going to have a tiarra!  She also will NOT use my dress.  Of course it would not fit her style.  I am thinking she is going to have an Audrey Hepburn sort of look.  Yep...the princess.

DH and I got married at the courthouse on a lunchbreak.  My father was our "witness."  In our wedding photo (a snapshot taken by Dear old Dad at our "shotgun wedding"), I still have my employee ID badge on, tucked in my maternity/wedding dress - you can tell because I always made fancy braided lanyards for my ID, and you can see the lanyard around my neck in the photo.

Hey Shelly, well halves are better than nones I guess if they help

How was the birthday girl, celebration, etc...? Hope everything went good.

Well I have to go shower....hummm Karen maybe it was me that cleared the room

Well you better believe that I'll be here tonight!!!!

How bad would it be if I left everyone at work a memo that says "THANKS for reading your memos so poorly. I live my life just to come into work and clean up your sh*t" Well all, my eyelids are quite heavy, and I think I pulled something in my behind with all the furniture construction and staining this weekend!!!!  JasmineRain39355.784525463HEY MOANA YOU THERE Hi girls and boys!!!! I have arrived!

GOOD EVENING How are you Darrel??

I'm Here!  Hi guys and dollsAre you home from work yet Katie?LOL Well Justin is back to work tonight so I'm living it up. He told me to enjoy myself, and by God I am!! This was the first place I went to! Right after fixing myself some food and throwing on a pair of PJs!! I'm off tomorrow so I plan on wasting my night away and laughing. Yay! Good for you! I wish I was off tomorrow!LOL Joonie..........I'm gonna smack you. I just saw your new sig. You're retarded.  HI LADIES I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU KNEW ANYONE ON WELL BURTIN AND IF SO HOW DID THEY DO. MY RHEUMY SAID I WAS DEPRESSED FRIDAY HOWEVER HE SAID THE WAS NORMAL FOR ANYONE WHO SUFFERS FROM SEVERE RA. WHOOPY IM IN THE NORM HIM AND HIS NURSE ARE TRYING TO TELL HOW THIS IS GOING TO AFFECT THE SMALLEST DETAILS OF MY LIFE, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I AM GETTING THIS INFORMATION NOW AND NOT A YEAR AGO. BUT I CAN'T COMPLAIN HE TAKES A VERY AGGRESSIVE APPROACH TOWARD MY RA, WHICH I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR.

What do I do with my little Poochie? I cut her toe nail a little close the other week and she won't let me touch her nails. Hubby and I tried holding her down and she went into fits! She's scratching the crap outta me. If I take her to the groomer I'm afraid they'll be mean to her * sighs*. What to do what to do?

I'm not on Wellbutrin, but I am on Cymbalta. I wasn't put on it for depression, but rather for peripheral pain. I didn't even think I was depressed, but man, what a difference being on it. I can't say it's helped with the pain, but I sure feel better mentally!I had a g/f who was on it, and it did OKAY for a while, but then it actually made her feel more depressed. So they switched her to efexxor and she was good as gold. I don't know anything else about it! Mona, take her to the groomer, but stay there and watch them cut her nails. I do it with Molly all the time.Mona, you gotta do it through the yelping. Eventually she'll realize that you're not going to hurt her, and calm down. We're going through this with the kitten. At first she was psycho kitty that we had to wrap in a towel with one leg hanging out at a time. Now she sits still, but just bitches a whole lot while you do it. LOL

 OTAY Spanky!

I've never cut my cat's toenails. She scratches on her post and they shed naturally.LMAO Who were you otay-ing?? Me or Valley Girl?? Yeah, who's spanky?? I always cut mine, she doesn't scratch enough and the shorter they are the less I get scratched. Domino sits still like a little sweetheart and bats her little eyelashes at you when you clip hers.

Both, don't ya'll watch little Rascals?I do! I just wasn't sure which one of us you were talking to! The Little Rascals were WAY before my time. I have no clue what you're talking about!

Katie - I added that about 4am this morning after I got tired of messing with my MySpace. I am fixing it up and cleaning out the ** hubby posted on my comments. The nut!

Abi Kitty is getting big, I need to weigh her again to see how much se weighs now. When we got her I think she weighted 11.8ozs.

hmmm...maybe you were into more sophistocated things by then.  I remember them.

Aww Shelly! Maybe he just really wants to see you better. There's dozens of ADs out there, and it really is amazing how much that one little pill can help. I'm sure there's one that would work for you. I LOVE mine.  Did anybody watch Desperate Housewives tonight? It starts here in 15 minutes, then Brothers & Sisters follows. I love both those shows!I remember them too Shelly, I was just being a smart a$$!

I PROBABLY SHOULD CALL HIS OFFICE MONDAY BUT THEY WILL PROBABLY TELL ME IT IS TO SOON.

BUT IF IT DOES NOT EASE UP IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO I WILL STOP TAKING IT. NEXT TIME I SEE HIM HE WILL HAVE TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE. HE SHOULD KNOW I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP BECAUSE I HAVEN'T COMPLAINED ABOUT ANY MEDS HE HAS EVER PUT ME ON YET TILL THIS.

You are sucha liar Valley Girl!

Hi Shelly, how are ya?

Where'd Joonie go?

Ok just weighted Abi Kitty, and she now weighs 1lb 6.8oz

She loves to sleep with hubby. He has woke up on the couch every day this weekend and she is always laying right there with him

yep, I know Katie he does.  Actually he hates when I cry, cause my sinuses drain forever, and I sound like a fog horn.

Bris...don't watch either.

Darrel don't take offense to this:

Shelly, you KNOW men suck at expressing themselves. Joonie - how much did Abi Kitty weigh when you got her? Has she gained?

Darrel, please do make sure if the depression gets worse that you stop taking it and see a dr ASAP. I hope it easies up though, but you might need a med change.

Yeah Darrel, it sounds like this may not be the one for you! That's okay though, there's plenty more out there. One of them will hit the spot!

NO OFFENSE TAKING WE DON'T THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT IS

I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW WHY.

Crap I missed desperate housewives! Brisen you'll have to tell me what is happening. Trey came to spend the night and we were talking and stuff and I forgot!

Joonie what are you feeding your little pig?

Darrel I don't think three days is enough time to tell any difference, are you sure it's not just making you sleepy?

She weighted 11.8oz the night we got her and now she is 1lb 6.8oz.

She now looks like her other siblings that were there, she is not as small as she was when we got her. I think she was the runt and was not big enough to get enough food to eat. They had 14 kittens! All were born on the same day from 2 momma cats.

You need to post a new picture of her joonie!

Well, darn it would feel much better if he would sit and cry with me.  I know he has it in him, and he has cried with other men about my dx...but NOT with me.  I guess one of us has to pretend to be strong.  (shoot, I cry at McDonalds commercials during the holidays)  I am a weenie...

She is eating Special Kitty for kittens. She really seems to like it. Her breath just smells like tuna or some kinda fish

She already said that Brisen....Keep up!lol@ I am a weenie  I'm so glad my daughter took her cat home today. I've had her cat for the past 3 weeks while she got settled in San Diego. Her freakin' cat weights 19 pounds. She's HUGE, and she likes to park her big fat butt right in front of my computer screen. Awww fat kitties are the BEST kitties! Samus is 5 months old now, and if I had to guess, I'd say she weighs about 7 lbs already. She's a chunky monkey!!!

Yep, the kids look at me and laugh at every cotton picken commercial.  Brats!!!  Then hubby says...clear the flood plain!!!

Ok let me go take a pic of her BRB

Shelly? .... you cry at McD's commercials on the holidays? The only way I would cry at a McD's commercial is if I was REALLY wanting McD's and we had no money or way to get there, and I think when I was preggo with one of my kids I did cry because hubby would not let me have McD's! Said we did not have the money... well just had to tell MIL and she got me my McD's

What a porker cat! My full grown shih-tzu weighs 19 lbs!Yeah, but big fat kitties crap out big fat smelly poos!My KITTEN craps out big smelly poo's. So she might as well just get f*ing fat and make me giggle when I see her.

Your daughter's cat is bigger than my little puppy(13lbs)

Yep, your right about poos...my shepherd man...and whooooeeeeewww

Here is a pic of hubby and Abi Kitty. The cat would not stay still she thought I was playing with her and kept attacking me.

OMG those little baby eyes! They're still blue! aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww She's so cute! I love her calico behind!

aww how cute she has really filled out! last time she was all eyes and ears

ya know Joonie her eyes almost match her daddy's!!!

She is funky looking. She got the tabby markings and the white bib and paws like a tabby, and the stripes on her head that run down her neck. And then it is like the stripes blend into the calico pattern. She is unusual that is for sure.

She has this thing when you walk towards her she will stand up on her hind legs with her butt on the ground and her front paws out like she is going to hug you, but she actually attacks your leg. She looks a little "top heavy"  Shelly that is what my daughter said when we got her. She said she liked her because she had blue eyes like her daddy. Then she told hubby that he could not deny the cat being his because she had blue eyes. No one else in the house has blue eyes, only hubby. We all have brown eyes. My son has blonde hair and brown eyes, daughter has dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. Hubby has brown hair and blue eyes.

You maen like Precious Moments kids katie?

Shes looking sad cause hubby is holding her and she wants to attack Joonie

Sharp cookie that girl of yours!!!!  She is adorable, and very teeny tiny!!!

Haha Samus was top heavy too. When she'd run she'd try to come to a screeching halt, and fail miserably every time. She'd end up doing a somersault. Well now that's all she does. Whens he's done running, she rolls forward, head over heels for absolutely no reason other than that's what she's used to!  it's SO CUTE! OMG! Abi Kitty found one of son's McD's fries in the floor and is eating it! NO MoNana! NOT precious moments! Those goofy 70s pictures! You know the ones!!

It is always so fun to watch young animals get their legs and other parts all tied up.  One of the great pleasures in life!

I would video Abi doing her sit down and attack but it will have to be when son is not around to bother her. He kinda makes her nervous. I do not blame the cat, he makes me nervous too.

Too bad they do not have paper bags around here

LOL Joonie, son makes you nervous!

My dogggie chases her tail and growls and barks at it.

Katie I was just a kid in the 70's, I don't remember

Yep me too Mona, just a kid.  Was it like the Uniceft commercials or something?

Okay this one is close, but not exact:

http://www.moxmas.com/readings/xtrafles/paint1.jpg

Heck Katie I can't remember what I had for dinner last night and you expect me to remember someting that happened in the 70's?

Hey I decided to donate all my candy corn to hubby's office. I'm going cold turkey!

Like the other day we were outside talking to FIL and son had this soft baseball bat, but the bat had plastic under the foam. And son threw it up on the porch and just barely missed my right swelled knee. It hit my shin and man if it would have hit my knee I would have been on the ground crying probably and unable to breath because of the pain that shot up to my head from being it in the knee.

That is some of the worse pain. When I get hit in the knee. It takes my breath away because that pain just shoots straight to my head and I cannot think, move or breath for a few mins. Hubby has to try to talk me into breathing when I get hit in my knee. It kinda freaks him out when I hurt my knee because of my reaction to the pain.

LMAO True MoNana, true....

I AM OUT OF CANDY CORN!! :( And I can't get anymore because Justin can't have candy. I'm trying to be good with him. Hahaha

OH YEAH I remember those, scary little buggers weren't they?

Oh cupie dolls...that is what they were called.  I still have some in porcelin.  I loved those.  Yep...remember now..thanks for the picture it was worth 1000 words!!!!Not this time anyway.... Valley Girl, I'ma do sumpthin to you.

Sumpthin bad.

Only if they were hanging above your bed...yep, have experiences!!

Oh no! Mo'Nana is going cold turkey! What is the first sign of withdrawal? As we need to be on the look out for it so we can send Mo'Nana some candy corn to get her over a hump.

Joonie...the shakes

Bris...you are a monster tonight...precious moments...they are NOT!!

Katie...ya dodged the bullet this time.

I bet she's not going cold turkey. I bet she has secret stashes all over the house. She's portioned them into snack baggies, and has hidden them in inconspicuous places. One in her undie drawer........one under the bathroom sink.......one under a sofa cushion..... Ok so if she says she has the shakes... someone give her candy corn PRONTO!Or Peeps...nice, stale Peeps!

You forgot above the 70's girl picture with the huge eyes!

Candy Corn...Yuck, yuck yuck...maybe chocolate is worth hiding, but not candy corn!

Or those orange circus peanuts! YummmmmmmmOMG NOW THATS REALLY GROSS GALE!

Joonie you need to wear knee pads around son

One time when Trey was about a year and a half old he was looking for a ball in his toy box, I was paying no attention and said throw it here, thinking it was a nerf or something, well he threw as hard as he could and hit me right between the eyes with a golf ball! I actually came close to passing out, I saw stars! Jeez that hurt

EEEEWWW, eeeewww, eeeewww, eeww!!!!!

Come on Shelly, live life on the wild side!

oooohhh, Mona, that sounds like it hurts.

Yep, you should wear some padding around your son, Joonie...I guess he is scary.

I told ubby to put the candy corn in his suitcase and he left them on the bar, now they're right here on my puter desk for safe keepingHahaha safe keeping MY ASS!!!

           ubby?

Sounds like temptation to me.  Remember it has taken three days to get your stomach talking nice...now don't piss it off again!

No my ass, its getting bigger and bigger DH is good Mona. You should see if you can watch it online.

WEll, ladies...I would love to stay and visit.  I have to sub part day tomorrow.  I am exhausted, and my (whole) vicodin is kicking in.

This has been great fun and a laugh a minute.  Get some sleep and see you in the am.

Love ya all, shel

LMAO @ Mo'Nana! I am sorry to laugh about the golf ball incident. It just made me laugh. My MIL says I am warped because I laugh when someone gets hurt. It is not that I think it is funny... it is just the sight of it happening that makes me laugh. I laugh when my kids get hurt, not to be mean or anything... it is just how a respond to it. Now if they get hurt really bad... blood... I do not laugh I freak and go into panic mode.

Yeah... she is sneaking those candy corns right now as we all speak! He is going to get to the office and in the bag will only be 2-3 candy corns! Nighty Night Shelly!!!!

Where is Karen? Is she getting ready for spooks?

Brisen what's happening on Desperate Housewives? You're not multi-tasking very well tonightKaren is now down to ONE computer, and still waiting for the repair guy to come fix her laptop. Hopefully he'll be here tomorrow, and she'll be back in action. All they have right now is Hubbys' comp, and he's addicted to Solitaire..

Yeah, I suck at multi-tasking.

 Goodnight Shelly Love

I think I may run to the grocery store and get more candy corn for hubbyRight NOW Mona?!?!?! Hubby my ass! We know who you're really buying it for! LOLDo you ever buy the Harvest Mix. It's candy corn with brown and orange corns and orange pumpkins. I love it! He's leaving at 5am. Recon he would notice if I put Debbie cakes in there insteadI do, but I never eat the brown ones, those are chocolate candy corn and they're NASTY.

Thats what I bought last time! I hated the chocolate ones, I bit the ends off and spit them outLOL Yeah I have a little tub of the chocolate ones still here. I need to dump them. Nasty little things.  Oh, has anyone seen the Sweet Tarts shaped like bones? And you can put them together to make a little skeleton? They come in the little packs your hand out to trick-or-treaters. I haven't seen them this year, and I'm SUPER bummed. They're my fav thing to get, right behind candy corn. :( You have to eat them all together, not seperately!Katie, they have them at Target! I love 'em!

I never did find the carmel candy corn Joonie said was so good. I wanted to try that. I do have some peanut m&ms stashedThanks Gale!! I've searched all over! Except, of course, Target! LOL I've been eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups all weekend. I can't believe it's still a month before Halloween. They put the candy out WAY too early!

Yeah the chocolate candy corn aka Indain Candy is just NASTY! EWW!!

I really really like the pumpkins a little more than the candy corn, but I will settle for either.

Hubby is a sweet tart eater. He LOVES sweet tarts. He just got thru eating some regular sweet tarts & whoopers.

Anyone like creme horns? I bought some of those last night, I wanted something sweet to eat and I did not want to get candy corn as everyone in the house will eat it up before I even get any of it!Me either!

WOOHOO I love cream horns! They're sooo good and rich and flakey!

I am a candy addict, and I love the candy from when I was a kid. I order online from this really neat place that has EVERYTHING!

Groovy Candies

Does anyone remember those ice creme cones that had marshmallow candy as the ice cream? I LOVED those!Oh awesome Gale! I love getting candy from Cracker Barrel! The mint sticks are my FAVORITE. And walmart sells them by the bag around christmas, and I eat them like CRAZY!

yep remember them.

Mo'Nana... I have not been able to find the carmel candy corns since I bought that one bag. And I have looked in all 3 wal-marts we have gone to within the last month or so.

I still have some, but I do not think it is any good by now. As son has had his booger pickers in it. The reason I will not eat anymore of it

Hometown Favorites

We ordered from both of these sites for the candy bar at my daughter's wedding.

This is a creme horn. Well not the wal-mart version

Has anybody ever ordered Mrs Pringles Candy Apples, they are to die for!

Ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh no I don't really care for those. :( I haven't had a good pastry since I lived in England. :( OMG, that creme horn looks like it's to die for!I LOVE carmel apples, but I cannot open my mouth wide enough to bite an apple. YES! I think I've pointed that out before, too.   Ya'll are killing me! How about a chocolate eclair bon bon in the freezer section, I'm droolingSo Katie, this is Justin's first night back at work?

Gale! That is the only way I have had carmel apples were with nuts on them.

Oh and I like to get at least one pomegrante each fall to eat. My mom use to buy me a couple each fall, and now my MIL buys them for me

I watched Paula Dean and her hubby go to England and they went into a pastry shop and ate all these pastries filled w/custard and she was in hog heaven! I would a been too LOL

moana39355.9321643518

What about popcorn balls?! Yeah... they had the boxes of 24 for .98 at wal-mart as soon as you walked in the door and I thought about getting them, but I cannot bite into them whole. Last time I got a box of them a couple of years back. I had to crush the ball.

One time, one of the balls would not crush into pieces after my putting all of my wieght onto it with my hand... so I had to resort to sitting on it

I don't care for the candy apples much either...they're usually cinnamon candy coated. Blech!

Joonie I used to buy Pomegrantes when we lived in Fla. every week. I love them but they're so aggravating to eat!

I only like homemade popcorn balls. The one's that you buy in a case are always stale.  LOL I saw those popcorn balls too but said no thanks. I love popcorn with butter and salt!

My dad used to make something like that from Norway, I think they were called ableskeevers? (sp)

He used a similiar type pan and OMG, they were sooooo good!

OMFG aebleskivers!! No, that's a breakfast food! Those are round, and you put sour cream and jam in them. AND MAN ARE THEY GOOD!!

http://www.solvangrestaurant.com/aebleskiver.html
My grandmother also makes her own Applebutter........omg its SO good! YES! He made them for breakfast and we would put jam in them. Never sour creme though. They are so damn good!

 Looks like crepes to me

My mom used to make old fashioned taffy every christmas, we all got to "pull" taffy, it was a lot of fun!

She used to make a candy tree out of thorn bush limbs in a vase with little gum balls on it for decoration. my dad would eat all the candyOh man I miss my grandma's house now!!

Does anyone else have like family tradition foods that are made each major holiday?

My mom makes peroggee's... OMG! family members have actually stopped talking to others because they ate the last peroggee. Yeah... my mom does not make them too much anymore as her shoulders bother her. So... if the family wants them for a holiday they make them, but they are NEVER as good as my mom's. For some reason they use velveeta cheese and not sharp cheddar.

My mom does make nut rolls each year. Those are pretty damn good. She makes every family one nut roll. And for mine she puts EXTRA brown sugar and walnuts in mine

And the other thing that my mom use to make was cannot remember the name right now, but they are a fried bread that are made like a doughnut. Those are GOOD! But she stopped making those as well because of her shoulders. SO... now my oldest brother makes them each year.

I want her to teach me how to make the peroggees so I can TRY to make them, for when she is gone and if I want some I can make them.

I love homemade apple butter! The stuff in the jar is 'ok' but nothing like the real thing. I love apple butter on frech and sourdough bread.

I've made homemade applebutter. We love it! All kinds of jellys and jams and marmalades tooWell I just listed most of mine Joonie!!  I have a special cookie receipe that my kids demand I make every year, so I guess that's tradition. That and making fudge...gotta do that every year too. Last year the kids did all the baking for Christma as I had just fallen down the stairs and had 3 broken ribs and stitches in my head.Jesus Gale! Walk much?

Man the peroggees are more popular with my family then the turkey or ham

When I was preggo with son, I was craving perogees, and my mom made me 30 of them and they were pretty damn big! And I finished them off in 2 days. My mom said she was not going to make me anymore while I was preggo as they would make me fat because I ate 15 in one day

Joonie we are stuffed to the gills around here in tradition

I make tons of homemade candy and cookies, just like my mama

She always cooked a huge Christmas brunch for all the famile and then Christmas dinner that night. I don't see how she did it all those years!

Christmas dinner is usually a Honey Baked Ham, my special cheesy potatos, assorted vegetables, homemade rolls. and several types pf salads.Does anyone else open ONE present on christmas eve? We've always done that. But it graduated into the SAME presents every year. LOL I would always (and still do!!) get a pair of cute christmas PJs. My dad would open his Far Side desk calender, and my mom would open her wall calender. We'd get her a different kind each year.

Sombody probably beat me to it, but just in case you didn't know yet, thought I'd supply the name for you.

Have a good night everyone.

Hugs, Nini

Hubby's momma always makes devinity each christmas. She make stawberry flavor w/out nuts for hubby. And we get the pure white with pecans in them! We should have a cookie exchange! Bake like 2 dozen each, put our names in a hat and draw. Whoever you draw, you mail your 2 dozen cookies to them.

What are peroggies? Do they have mashed potatoes in them?

My sister makes baklava to die for. We all make fudge too. And I make penut brittle and ...what is it?... looks like cat poo?  oh...shoot! I forgot Sleep well!THANKS NINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We started with opening one gift on Christmas Eve, then the last 2 Christmas Eve's we've opened all of them on the Eve so we can sleep in in the morning. LOLI LOVE Baklava! It's something I've never tried to make...looks like it takes patience, which I don't have.Yes, Mo'Nana! That is them cheesey mashed potatoes in a dough shell, covered with butter & onions. I do not care for the onions, but without the oinion flavor it just does not taste right. It has to be sweet onions. One year my oldest niece made them with velveeta cheese and used a red onion! It was icky!Well I hate to do it, but the kitten has taken over my lap and chest. AKA - her way of telling me it's bed time. LOL

Nighty night all!!!!
If it looks like cat poo, it has to be almond roca.

Thats a great idea Gale! My kids make me do the same cookies every year, they're called orange slice cookies but I only do half w/orange slice candy

sounds good Joonie, they're Russian aren't they?
