It may be the Humira | Arthritis Information

Thanks you all for your support. I just returned from the neurologist and
he said the MRI was just normal. No leasions,no lupus nothing. Thank
God!!!! He said to discuss it with my rheumy because it looks like it must
be from the Humira. He said it is NOT from the MTX. It started while on
the remicade headachs, blurred vision. nystagmus. I went to the
optomalogist and he found the nystagmus. I was taken off the
remicade but put on Humira six weeks later which was not enough time
to get it out of my system. Anyway I am going into the rheumy on Friday
to discuss the plan. I do know the TNF's have central nervous system side
effects and that is what nystagmus is. Tasha if you are reading this it
would not hurt to get your eyes checked by an optomalogist to see if
nystagmus is causing your blurred vision.
I assume the oly thing to do it to take me off the Humira and see if the
nystagmus goes away. I will see what the rheumy says on Friday. This
should be a fun journey. Thanks again for your support and for listening.
TerryGreat news Terry! It's so terrible that we have to live under
these clouds of terror from time to time. I so glad your MRI came out
negative. I have not heard or read about problems like yours with Humira.
So far, the drug seems to be doing well with many people. But, as you
probably know, the individual responses among us can be varied. sorry
you had to go through the trauma. Hopefully things will improve soon.

I was taken off of Humira about a year ago due to some tingling/numbness in my legs, feet and hands. Turned out I had a B12 defincincy. I started B12 injections at that time and the symptoms went go away provided I continue to take my B12. If I don't I have problems.

I restart Humira this week. I've got my fingers crossed that they are right about the B12 causing my problems. I did very well on Humira and hope to acheive the same success.

I'm not sure what nystagmus is...but I did see an eye doctor on two occcations due to pain behind one eye and blurred vision. The only problem they could find was dry eye. I'm going to look that up and see what it is.

Things straighten out for you soon Terry.
