Keep those gloves handy. I am gonna research to see if there is any battery operated heating gloves. My hands and feet are always cold and purple and it hurts.
Hope you get some relief soon on your swollen joints. Do you ever try using the wheat pads which you could micro and then put under your feet or rest your hands on. I live in the UK where it rains a third of the year at least (and this year it's rained much much more than that! ) so I hope you can find some relief.
I once saw a "cosiboot" in the "Argos" catalogue here in the UK. It was to put both feet inside - (weird??, yes!!) - to use only when sitting down. You plugged its lead in and it works like an electric blanket. The sheepskin type fabric inside then becomes warm. In the meantime sending you lots of warm wishes
