Brain fog... what was I saying? | Arthritis Information

I am going under from brain fog!!

Okay, does anyone else here have problems translating what they think in
their head to words? (That question was a classic example!) I'm having a lot
of trouble not only with recall but making sentences that are
comprehensible and also it feels like I'm on a 7 second delay. "Huh?" seems
to be my catch phrase nowadays. I'm forgetting to do things that have been
part of my routine for yonks. I'm messing up at work a lot, and seeing as
making a mistake means misdosing someone it's a big deal.

Any words of advice or anecdotes or anything to make me feel like I'm not
losing my mind?

I also have that problem.  I read some of my posts and cannot believe all the typos I did not notice and incomplete sentences, run ons, or they just do not make sense.  I attribute it to depression, prednisone and darvocett.  No matter what its cause  - if it is not bad enough  that ra isolates you because you no longer are up to doing the things you use to and have a hard time relating to the rest of the world, now I get to be an "airhead" who is lazy and whines all the time with "phantom" pain
roxy, I had to edit one of my posts in the humira thread...I was saying, I'll let you know roxy and typed:  I'll let you knox roxy

You know, I just thought it was age that was making me absentminded and spacey

I have lots of post-its everywhere, too.  If I don't write it down, it's not gonna happen.

Ohhh me on vicodin, RA drugs, 45 years old and blonde...what a bad combo
It's kind of like the words don't move fast enough from my mind to my mouth.
I am constantly saying "whatcha callit" instead of people's names because I just can't remember them at the time.  It drives my hubby crazy, he said take the time to remember, but it takes too long and then I've forgot what I was going to say.  Total brain fart.
Love that smiley Brenda.  I can top you - I forget to make the list because I forget that I am forgetful!
I always end up forgetting the list at home.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been dealing with RA since 1999 with plenty of ups and downs. Finally plenty of ups with an brief period of downs. I'm just glad to find others with the same problems.

Welcome Gabby....as soon as I logged on I hade to come meet you Gabby. That is one of my favorite names. I think I would have loved to have named my little girl that.

And Brenda and Murph; we'll just form a little "Blonde" club and just use that as our excuse. I'm actually a pretty smart Blonde chic; but here lately I've come up blank more and more. I've recently blamed it on cold type medicines when caught on the spot...but it's driving me crazy. People sortof just start thinking of you as the airhead after a while. Makes it easier to get away with (I know that's a shame; but I think it's true) How many blondes do we have here? 'm a natural blonde...but I like to be blonder so I'll admit to coloring it for years.

I like your smiles too Brenda. do you have to download something to your computer to use those? Never fails I'll download something weird on my husband's computer and mess something up everytime I do that.

I personally think we should just make it a rule here that bad grammer and typos are just fine with us!!

Hey Lovie,

Thanks for the welcome. I glad to find an awsome forum. I hope to be part of this forum for a while.

Talk to all of you soon.

Gabby

Don't worry, I can't even proofread MY posts, let alone everyone elses! Typos are just fine with me Welcome Gabby!

Lovie...ever feel like this?
I'm natural blonde as long as the sun is around..then it starts getting lighter. In the winter months (we do have those times in FL too hehe), I use a little sun in w/my hair dryer cuz it gets a little darker.

YEA, I CAN RELATE.  TYPOS, RUN ON SENTENCES, CAN'T REMEMBER WORDS.  AFTER THE LAST FLARE, I SWORE I HAD HAD A STROKE OR SOMETHING, THE FOG WOULD NOT LIFT.  I HAVE BEEN A BUSINESS WOMAN AND IN SALES FOR 30 YEARS....OUTGOING AND NEVER AT A LOST FOR WORDS........TILL RA CAME ON HARD AND FAST.   I COULD NOT CONCENTRATE, FORGET WORDS, TOTALLY LOSE MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT, COULDN'T TAKE CARE OF "BUSINESS".  ONE THING THAT HELPED ME, P R O V I G I L!!  THE FOG HAS LIFTED, I CAN MAKE IT THRU THE DAY AND ACTUALLY ACT NORMAL, CARRY ON A NORMAL CONVERSATION.  STILL WIPED OUT AT THE END OF THE DAY BUT I CAN MAKE IT THRU A DAY....COULDN'T BEFORE.    THE FATIGUE IS LESS, FOG LIFTS AND I SLEEP BETTER WITHOUT ANY AID OF A MED.  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.  IT GAVE ME BACK MY LIFE!!

(AFTER PROVIGIL)

What is provogil??

My brain fog is so bad I'm forgetting common everyday words like door and cheese. I can picture what I want to say in my mind but the word is gone. It's very frustrating.

I just started a new job and need to be extra sharp and smart!

Welcome Gabby.

I was a blond and then it started getting darker so I have been highlighting it for years.  The lady that does it says it is getting light again (gray
