Back story  i have had 3 c sections, with the vertical incision.. they have  always been very sensitive.. and its 24 freaking years later..anyway in the past 6 months I have developed HUGE  swollen chaffing at the base of the incision,  where theres a little pooch of flesh.. its like a bedsore.

I've tried monistat, stuff for jock itch, neosporin, diaper rash stuff.. I'm going nuts.. I have my infusion coming up friday and I know this thing wont heal by then..can I take remicade with an open sore?? this s thing is the size of my 2 hands together..

Oh hun that sounds like it's time for some doctor help!! It sounds so painful!!!  I'm not sure about the infusion.....you DEF. need to call your doc. HI dear, I agree with Katie, this sounds serious and you want to be well for your Remicade! LYndaI also wanted to add that I've had some spots attacked by the dermatologist and it took a month and a half for them to heal. musch longer, I think, because of my medication?! Lynda

Oh Lynda, that sounds just miserable. How long has this been going on? My first thought was some sort of hernia, but who knows. I really think it is best to have a doc. check it out to be on the safe side, especially since you have tried so many things and nothing has helped. Make sure to tell doc all the topicals you have tried, so he doesn't make you try some of the same... Please let us know what he/she says.

Feel better soon sweetie!

Deb

hi its nearly healed.

we have figured out what it is.. I am losing weight and when I drop a few pounds the skin needs time to get reabsorbed, it hangs loser than usuall and it rubs..I am down well below what I was a month ago..

oh and to help heal I used some burn pads, they are a colodial gel and they conform to the skin and recycle the weeping.. also they have anesthetic  so no more pain..

Great news Kathy! Glad you've figured out the cause and can hopefully prevent a recurrence!!! Ouch!
