Hi folks, in May I was able to drive my car, after being sick since December 06. I was taking 15mgs of prednisone, Remicade and mtx. My brain was suffering from an extensive operation and the anathesia, etc. I drove down a street with a number of 'new' stopsigns and the traffic cops were told to work the area. You guessed it I didn't come to a complete stop at one of the signs. (there were no other cars crossing the street!). I got a traffic ticket, and 'failed' to take it into the 'court'.(first dumb),then My mailperson didn't get me the notice because the 'officer' didn't put my condo number on the ticket.(second and third dumb)!
All of this cost me 0!! this morning. It would have been if I had payed for it in May!!
More important, please everyone when you are on these super medications do be careful driving. I believe the predisone contributed to my 'mental condition' (anxiety)as well as all the other super drugs. ??!! Not blaming in all on Pred, but you get the idea.
Please be careful, Lynda
Oh...honey I am so sorry for that ticket being soooo very much. I am almost paranoid about police. I got a speeding ticket a little over a year ago, and I have been paranoid ever since. Yep...just had a convo with Brandon about stopping at stop signs the correct way last night. First night on the road with him. I sorry to hear that Lynda! Now, I am glad I do not drive. Sometimes I wish I did drive so I can go where I want to go and all, but... better for me to just get "chauffeured" around by family members. Because I know some days... I freak about cars when I am just the passenger. PLUS, I have a "WEE" phobia of cars and driving. One day we were coming back from my mom's about 20 miles away. and we saw 5 state troopers each with a car pulled over right behind each other. Then the next weekend... the same thing. It is said they are going to bust for going 70 when the speed limit is 65 on the four lane. So... hubby has been driving 65. We had people passing us and pulling away when we drove 70 before the crack down on driving over the speed limit.
Gosh, that is scary Jaz if they are giving out tickets for being under the influence of Benedryl. That is why I try to take narcs early in the night...however, opiates stay in your system about seven days is that correct?
