How are all you MALE RA'er's doing today?

Com'on you can tell us we will NOT bite ya... heck half of us cannot even open our mouths wide enough to take a good plug outta ya

So... how about it?! How ya doin'? Got anything new going on?

Well Joonie you saw my post about excercise,,,,this is so so day with the hands....overdid it trying to help wife with bed making, but it will be okay....won't get a firm diag till next week with doc being out sick...but hanging in there....you do the same !!!!

don

Don - no need to make the bed. I never do. Because most times I am laying in it

Hope you get a firm DX when you go back to see the RD. Good Luck!!!

NOTHING MUCH GOING ON ANYMORE WHEN WE DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE VERY OFTEN JUST DON'T HAVE MUCH TO TALK ABOUT OTHER THAN I WILL NEVER TAKE WELL BUTRIN AGAIN I WILL JUST DEAL WITH STUFF I HAVE HAD TO TAKE A LOT OF MEDECINE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON THIS BOARD BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD A REACTION TO A DRUG LIKE THIS ONE. HONESTLY IS SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME I HAVE NEW RESPECT FOR PEOPLE WITH SEVERE DEPRESSION IF THAT IS WHAT THEY DEAL WITH. IT BROUGHT ME DOWN SO LOW I NEVER WOULD HAVE BELIEVED A PERSON COULD BE THAT DOWN AND I KINDA LAUGH NOW JUST BECAUSE OF THE STORIES WE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT HOW NO ONE CAN EVER FEEL THE PAIN WE FEEL AND IT'S AGGRAVATING, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THAT'S WHAT SEVERELY DEPRESSED PEOPLE FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE MY UTMOST RESPECT NOW  THANKS FOR ASKING HOW ALL OF US ARE DOING THAT WAS NICE. HOPE YOUR WEEK IS GOING BETTER THAN LAST WEEK THAT WAS A LOT TO DEAL WITH IN ONE WEEK. HOPE YOU HAVE A NICE EVENING.

I do not do much of anything either, except go to wal-mart throughtout the week. But we have weeks we only go once or twice a week. But lately we have been going just about everyday. It is getting that time of the year where you have to decide on what you are going to get people for christmas, and since they no longer have lay-a-way... you have to buy one thing at a time to be able to make sure you get what you want when they have it and when you have money. PLUS, we just like to get outta the house. We have no friends and in-laws work... so... we just go to wal-mart.

Hope you get to feeling much better soon!

Darrel - I was put on Lexapro because I was told right before my diagnosis that a rheumatologists wouldn't see any patient unless they were on an anti-depressant first.  Nothing happened for eight weeks, and then BAM, the worse depression of my life.  Into the toilet with that BS.  I totally understand, it freaked me out.  Cathy

Joonie - its football season, we know where they are

JOONIE I DIDN'T KNOW THEY DID AWAY WITH LAYAWAY'S AT WALMART WOW. EVERYTHING FOR THE KIDS IS SO EXPENSIVE NOW YOU HAVE TO BUY JUST ONE AT A TIME. SMART THINKING.

CATHY MY RHEUMY HAS NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO  ME UNTIL FRIDAY AND HE THOUGHT IT MIGHT HELP MAKE ME FEEL BETTER BECAUSE RIGHT NOW HE HAS ME MAXED OUT ON ALL THE SCRIPTS SO I SHOWED CONCERN AND TALKED TO HIM. AND HE THOUGHT I SOUNDED A BIT DOWN BUT LET ME TELL YOU I AM NOT THAT DOWN. GAURATEED LEARNED THAT REAL QUICK THIS WEEKEND. LOL Hi!Everybody, I am not doing to bad, although my left hip is getting more painfull

My mom's friend that has RA, too, had a total hip replacement a month back and her hip kept rolling outta place, so the done something to keep it in place and so far so good. She is able to walk much better now. She is to have her other hip done after this one heals, probably next year some time.

Hi! Joonie, It is nice to chat here once in a while. I had a cortizone shot in my hip in June but it did'nt work. As long as I can stand the pain I'm all set...

Well, that is not good! That the cortisone shot did not even help. Yikes!

Well, as long as you can stand the pain, I guess that is all the counts, right?

You still enjoying those webcams?

Hi! Yes I check out the webcams on www.camstreams.com once in a while. They are not Xrated... There are animals, people, and places.. Try it you'll like it..LOL!

Hummmm.... nah...  I am not much into watching other folks going about their daily life... they might make me want to get up and do something

You little flirt you!  J/K....nice to see the men here, thanks for dragging them out.

Darryl, I'm probably alone in this, but if possible, can you type without all caps.  For some reason I have a hard time reading it.

Did someone say Football?  The Pats all the way....

Moved doc gave me the SR instead of the XL but only 150 and no more.  It made me shake.  Even my head.  And I was always parinoid.  I threw it in the trash and said "forget that".  lol

Lorster - I knew it was krap when he told me, but he also got me on Klonipin, which I needed desparately for the seizures, and he referred me immediately to a rheumatologist.  He actually was very helpful and on my "good doctor" list.  But its still BS.

Shykymom - you and me would get together well, I am willing to try the medication, but if it doesn't work for me, it right into the toilet and let's try something else, or in the case of "depression", I opted for psychotherapy.  I think with all that goes along with having "autoimmune", a neutral party to talk with is great therapy, for me.

Paul - good luck with your hip - hope you can still watch football

Sorry, to hear the season change is messing with you Ta2d. I know the last couple of days now, my hips have been aching, but not that bad of an ache, but aching enough that when I lay down they start to hurt more, because I like to lay on my sides.

I hope the flare passes for you soon. If not, please do not wait too long, and let it get worse.

I am still around. (Literally and figurativly) I think that is half of my feeling down from time to time. At my last appt. RD asked if I wanted to increase Remicade from every 8 weeks to 6. He had just increased the dosage about two weeks prior so I told him I would see how that went first. Well I think I may have to go to the 6 weeks after all. Fatigue and getting soar. Next infusion is not ntil 22nd.

Anyone else get Dry Eyes? Mine have been driving me crazy off and on for a month.

I am glad to see other men posting more often, not that I do not love the girls.

Well... like I said before I hope the time flies for ya so you can get your Remicade again. I go to get my first round of remicade the day after you get yours

Just back from PT, if you could call it that.  Actually it's splint adjustment amd measurements.  Anyways, the hand is doing fine and you really can't see the scar.  It kinda just looks like I scraped the knuckles a little.  No more pain though.  My doc chewed my butt about using my thumb too.  After he looked at the x-rays, he said "you've been using your thumb and putting stress on it!"  He said the screw in it had shifted ever so slightly but would be alright if I stopped using it.  He said no matter how good it feels, "don't use your hand yet!!!"

Jay, I've been doing my infusions every 6 wks. now for a while.  I too was getting sore at the 7 week point.  As for as the fatigue goes, I've been on remicade for a while and it seems that my fatigue has never gotten any better.  I struggle with it every day.  Provigil keeps me awake during the day, but I hate using meds to keep from nodding off.

Binge... Binge... Binge... I told ya about playing those video games! I hope beating DOOM 3 was worth your thumb screw shifting and gettng grilled for it.... JUST KIDDING!!

Glad the hand is healing good. Oh and PT is called Pain & Torture!

Binge,

I am out of the loop. What did you have done to your hand?

Joonie I hope the Remicade works for you. You have had a rough time!

Jay this is what Binge had done to his hand. http://arthritisinsight.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10753& amp;KW=BingeThinker

Thanks Joonie.

Binge the hands look great. I am very happy for you and wish you a quick recovery.

Jay

Thanks Jay!

Joonie, how's the remicade situation?

Binge, scheduled for remicade on Oct 23rd. I will have to call them back to make sure when my appt is. I was in the car when I called and talked to them, so did not have anything to write it down with.

Well...late as usual...just checking in to say Hi from another male RA victim.  I'm doing pretty well, though I'm on the second week of a moderate flare, nothing terribly dramatic but still very tiring.

Alan

But you get to watch football ...

Hi guys!

Joonie, am so happy that your Remicade infusion is scheduled.  I have my fingers crossed for you.  Take care, Lindy

Pain slowly on the up-tick, but still not bad. Nothing much to report. Wore my brace today. Avoided a few handshakes.

Took my pills. Waiting for sleep.

David?... it sounded like you had your day all planned out there.

Alan?... sorry about the flare, I hope it eases up for you soon.
