delayed reaction to mtx | Arthritis Information

I had thought I was not going to get the mtx fatigue and overall body aches I had gotten before from mtx.  It is wierd.  I don't get the side effects from mtx. until two days later.  I woke up this morning feeling flu like symptoms and exhausted.  That is how I would feel when I was taking mtx before.  I guess my body processes it slower.  I hope I can continue to take it.  I am resigned to mtx being integral to getting my life back.  I am thinking out loud because I don't feel well enough to get out of the recliner.  YUk  Another day with ra.  roxy, it hits me 2 days later too...just a lot of fatigue and laziness. That' s why I take it on Friday so I can rest the weekend.  Maybe after a few weeks of you taking it you won't have those flu symptoms...I know when my MTX is upped, I feel like crap for a good month..then  somehow my body adjusts.

Have you discussed the injectable kind with your doctor Rox? Some people have a lot better results with that.

I personally take 22.5mg a week and have no problems and it has been life changing for me as well. (With Humira too)

I think if my body does not adjust to oral mtx I will consider injectible.  My rd and I decided to try to keep me at 10 mg.  Last time he worked up from 5 mg.  I think maybe 10 mg was a lot the first time.  Sadly, I thought I had a good attitude and was not going to feel bad this time from mtx.  If nothing else, I KNOW I am not feeling well and it must be mtx.  Nothing subtle about how I am feeling this morning

HOW LONG BEFORE YOU GO BACK TO WORK??  HOPEFULLY THIS WILL STABILIZE YOU SO YOU CAN FEEL BETTER DAILY!
