It seems that every time I read the news, there's some sad story about a mother killing her kids, or a sex offender snatching some one's baby.

As 'desensitized' as I've become to those stories (as much as someone COULD be) This one REALLY threw me for a loop....

Cops: Prostitute Snorted Cocaine Off Infant's Stomach While Breastfeeding

CHENECTADY, N.Y. —  A woman had her 5-year-old daughter and 2-month-old son with her as she took drugs and performed sex for money, New York police said.

Wendy Cook, 37, of Saratoga was arrested along with four other women during a prostitution sweep early Monday, according to Schenectady Police Lt. Brian Kilcullen.

Cook was arrested when she offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer for money, Kilcullen said.

While Cook's children were in the car with her, she performed sex acts on at least two men for money, smoked crack cocaine in the car and even snorted cocaine off the infant's stomach while she was breastfeeding, Kilcullen said.

Cook is in Schenectady County Jail without bail on charges of prostitution and child endangerment, pending a court appearance Tuesday. Her children were turned over to family members.

My question is this - how do punish someone for this kind of crime???

THAT'S JUST ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IS SO SAD ABOUT THIS STORY SHE WILL PROBABLY NOT BE PUNISHED FOR THE KIDS, SHE WILL BE OUT IN NO TIME AT ALL IT IS VERY SAD. YOU HEAR STORIES ABOUT PARENTS DICIPLINING THE CHILDREN THEY GET IN TROUBLE  FOR TRYING TO MAKE THE CHILDREN BETTER PEOPLE, AND YOU HEAR STORIES LIKE THIS AND SHE WILL PROBABLY WALK AWAY AND BE BACK IN THE CAR WITHIN A WEEK SAME SCENARIO. LET'S HOPE NOT FOR THE SAKE OF THE CHILDREN.

JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE .

I'm not nearly as concerned about punishment at this point as I am about getting those kids away from that filthy whore. I shudder when I hear that... I've seen first-hand all too often when they give the kids to "family" it is often a sister or parent who doesn't want another brat or two to look after, so they end up back at the offender's house.

 

I was thinking the same thing Jas. If the family was so great why didn't they have the children in the first place
