Infusion-and a free toothbrush | Arthritis Information

I had my first Orencia infusion today. From something that takes 30 min.
to infuse it was certainly a long morning. First off, he med has to be
mixed in the hospital lab, not at the clinic. They can't begin to mix it
until you are physically in the office with an IV running. So, I got there at
8 and they called to the lab. The med didn't come over until close to 10!
I did get alot of grading done but come on! Plus, I feel like a pincushin. I
know that I am a hard stick. I always have been. It took them 3 tries to
get the IV going. They usually get bloodwork then but it seems that they
couldn't get enough blood at that site. At least the IV was in. Well, they
decided to draw blood elsewere. Fine with me, I hate going down to the
lab. 3 more sticks later I am still in full possesion of all my blood. I
ended up having to go down the the lab anyway after the infusion. I
didn't get home until 12. Of all things to give-I got a free electric
toothbrush from Orencia. Whatever.

I am concerned about the fatigue I felt after the fact. Remicade was never
a problem. I took it and went on with my day. This time I came home
and crashed for 4 hours. I am hoping it is from the field trip yesterday. I
go back on the 17th so I'll have to see what happens then.

I hope this works. I hate putting so much faith in this treatment.

Gee a toothbrush.........was it at least an electric one? Probably not, huh?

Hopefully this will work for you, and be worth the hassle!!!

Maybe Orencia is giving a secret nod to the athritis/focal-dental-infection connection?

Good luck with the new treatment. I hope future infusions are relatively hassle free!
Wow.  An electric toothbrush trumps the alarm clock I got.  Course, all I had to do was go get the mail.  I don't even take Orencia.
