i was inspired to discover your forum,

My newest symptom is the most worrying! i have severe pain in my neck, am constantly dizzy and seem to be shaking constantly. If anyone can relate to this i would be grateful for a reply.

Sally, Hi and welcome to the board.  I am glad you are here.  I have PA and P as well.  I am on a combo right now, but I was just dx in Feb. so I am still battling with the flare of my lifetime.  Do you see a Dermatologist for P.  I have a cream that is called Taclonex, and it clears the P in about seven days...completely.  I have scaring from previous untreated P.  For the PA I am on a coctail with Mtx and Remicade.  I have a lot of allergies to antibiotics as well, but have been on the MTX since March and haven't had any reaction to it. I just started the Remicade, so the jury is still out.

Again welcome and there are a lot of people here with a lot of knowledge.  I can only give you the picture of someone that is just dx.  Take care...shel

P.S.  I take vicodin when I need it.  I have an NSAID allergy, so I am left with Tylenol a lot...doesn't work, so usually I take nothing during the day...unless I stay home.

We all seem to congregate at the RA part of the forum.  Same sort of things for the most part, so I would copy and paste my post to the RA sight as well.  Take care...shel

Hi sallyak,

Welcome to the forum, you will find it very active if you frequently visit. I have PA too. No psoriasis as yet. I was diagnosed two years ago.

It is very important i feel to have trust in you Rheumotologist, as the medications you might be prescribed are very strong and need constant monitoring for changes and effects both good and bad. So you are very right to be concerned about changing doctors frequently. Can you find a different clinic? Express your concern to the current Rheumy about this situation, you will find they are very human and understanding.

Constant pain can be really exhausting so sleeping it off is sometimes the best medicine. You should tell the Dr about this though because it could be an underlying issue that needs to be dealt with. There are so many conditions that make you fatigued, and most of them need attention. My best advice, tell your Dr about every single symptom no matter how small. I personally take a list sometimes numbering up to 25 points. Drs deal really well with lists, they are trained to analyse and can only do this effectively if they have all the information they need.

I try not to use this forum to be diagnosed but to gain knowledge. So many illnesses are different in different people. Your neck and shaking problem could be so many different things, but sounds like a thyroid issue to me. Best tell your GP for starters.

Family support is huge, for me it's the opposite. Kids are the most supportive and hubby is in more denial than i am!

Research as much as you can on the internet. Knowledge is the best power over your disease. If you know what is going on within yourself, it can be less stressful and more importantly you know yourself more than your doctor does, so you can educate/suggest to him/her what is wrong with you.

Welcome once again, and you will find in more ways than one, you are not alone on this board.

Take care.

Hi Sally, A big Hi and Welcome to AI.  I just wanted to add please call your doctor about the newest symptoms that you're experiencing.  Dizziness and shaking aren't part of RA/PA's symptoms and these could be related to something else.  You need to be checked by your doctor.  Please keep us posted on how you're doing.  Lindy
