This is about new study that shows your appendix is good for something. At the end of this article, it mentions that maybe they will find out your tonsils are good for something, too! Okay, link doesn't work. Google "Duke good bacteria gut".

Or take out space between 'p' and 'u' in purpose; that works.Suzanne39361.4091319444 [QUOTE=Suzanne] http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071005/ap_on_he_me/appendix_s_p urpose

Here's a link

I saw that story too; that was the reason the doctors always gave my mother when she wanted my tonsils removed.

Wow -

So how many of us still have the tonsils AND appendix?

Pip

I thought it would be pertinent to those on AP - if you don't have an appendix, you would really need to be 'religious' about your probiotics, right? And thanks for the link, Jasmine! I always have such issues with those!I still have my tonsils.  I had an emergency appendectomy a few years back.  It was bursting as they were removing it.  The odd thing was, I never really felt overly sick - I barely had a fever. The pain was mild. But the pain was on the right side, and something just didn't seem right so I drove over to the hospital just to be safe.  Glad I did! Wow! I always suspected it was good for something. I still have both my
appendix and my tonsils. It's weird that I still have my tonsils because as a
child I had so much strep throat and in those days removing tonsils was
almost routine.

Great link...thanks for the info!

Pip - I am disappearing one gland, one organ, one surgery at a time.  Had my appendix removed, but it should have been my gall bladder,  Oopsie.

I am not hijacking this thread, but I read and heard aobut histories for years in my ex's chiropractic practice and inevitably most women had had at least one breast biopsy, all normal.

Back to the campaign to save tonsils and appendexis (is that a word) !!!!
