You have a good point about what they looked like before. So... how about a pic I took of them when I was on Humira and tappering off 5mg of pred? My knees a couple of months ago.... the most normal they ever look.
I think that is considered a flare....
Hugs Yep...they're not fat they are just flaring....Sorry love bug!!! Ahhh... do not feel too bad, I have other pics where my knees actually look even more swelled

Oh here's another one... My knees are not fat, they are just big boned.
Oh and yes, I am on 10mg of pred. I just do not understand what a flare is. I guess it is different to everyone. But I just cannot wrap my brain around what a flare is. I remember one time I went to my last RD and he said I was flaring, and I sure did not feel like I was flaring. I guess flaring is when something changes from the "normal" or "semi-normal" state to a noticable difference? I did not even know what a flare was until a couple of years ago. I had heard my RD's mention it, but never gave it thought or even cared to know what flare ment.
Joonie honey! I hurt to look at your swollen knees!! Bless your heart, I hope the pred takes care of that before they get any worse
