I can't thank eveyone enough for all your post. I was diagnoised in April 2007 with PMR. Had no idea when the Dr told me what I even have. I slept the whole month of Feb and began to have shoulder pain. Called my Neuro Dr to find out what to do. I am a chronic pain person do to an accident at work in 97. So when this started, I did not know what to think. It seemed my Dr knew right away what was wrong. Sent me for blood test and said I have this PMR stuff. I came home and started to research it.
I am so glad I found this form. I started Friday with this anti inflamatory diet. I can tell a difference. If I can get rid of the tiredness, that would be wonderful. I am tired all the time and can't stand it. Thankgoodness I am retired and can sleep whenever, but don't want to.
I started out on 5mg of pred in the morning and 5mg in the afternoon. I am now on 5mg in the morning and 2.5mg in the afternoon. I am also on a lot of meds for my chronic pain, but am trying to get off of some of them. I take Ultrum and Oxycotin for pain. and then Zanaflex to help me sleep at night. Had a sleep study done last week to see what that Dr could do so that I might sleep better and night and not be so tired during the day.
Well thanks for listening and am so glad I found you. Geri
I think the fatigue is the worst part of this. I had it on the lower dose of Medrol. Heavy legs like dragging a tree up hill on the stairs.
Now on a highter dose due to relapse and suspected GCA. Seems like one symptom goes and another takes its place.

So thankful I found this special place, too. And I plan to begin the anti-inflammatory diet in hopes it will help. I know what Donna is saying about the "heavy" legs. I don't want to set the world on fire, but it would sure be nice to function without feeling so old and run down.
