Just been diagnosed with h.pylori and been given my antibiotics and just wondered if any of you guys have had this and if so, how effective was the antibiotic therapy?   Did it clear up all your stomach problems?

Hope all is well with you.

OMG....I'm very interested in H. Pylori (more the story of it's discovery than any clinical aspect). I don't have any personal experience with it, but I wanted to say you might find that once your H. Pylori is dealt with your RA improves. I had this test done last year when I was hospitalized and it was negative. Maybe it is time to re-test? I will ask tomorrow.I had it, and antibiotics worked to cure me. I think you will feel better in general - I was dx'd after my stomach was killing me, but didn't realize how bad I had been feeling all over until I started treatment.

Good luck with it!

From what I understand, a very high percentage of stomach ulcers can be attributed to this bacteria, and it is supposed to be responsive to antibiotic treatment.  This may make a huge difference in how you feel!  I'm glad you have something that can be easily treated!

Good luck and keep us updated!

And that damn microbe has been found in heart disease plaque and alzheimer's plaque.

How is that thing that supposedly needs acid to survive getting out of the gut?

Hmmmm.

My sister had H Pylori recently. Her Dr said it could cause stomach cancer if not treated with antibiotics. He said they find that most ulcers are caused by this bacteria

LOL Karen sorry I'm a copy-catThat is actually a good diagnosis since it is treated with antibiotics. It has
only been in the last couple years that this bacteria was identified as the
cause of most stomach ulcers. Before you were told that is was stress or
food.   Just make sure to finish the antibiotics completely so you don't
develop a resistant strain.

Which antibiotic treatment plan are you on for this? I know that some can
be pretty tough on your system. But, when done-you should have alot of
improvement.Rebecca
I'm on a ppi (proton pump inhibitor) with amoxicillin and clarithromicyn (?)
