Plaquenil Field Vision Test | Arthritis Information

So, I just had my second field vision test since starting Plaquenil, and the opthamologist said my eyes look fine, do it again in 6 months.  He was INCREDIBLY pleased I had started minocin antibiotic treatment, as it is very good for the eyes.  And I had planned on telling him that I have noticed for about three weeks that my poor eyesight is sharpening up.  So, another reason to be on it, for me.  That's such good news.  I've been through those tests also.  And as you said, yet another reason to start AP therapy.  Since I'm not on any traditional RA meds currently when I see my new RD, I'm going to ask if I can do AP therapy.  I want to see what it does for me before I go on RA meds.  I do fine without them and need just an occasional Naproxen/Aleve so I figured now would be a good time to go outside the traditional RA box.  Besides some of the side effects of the traditional meds are just too scary for me.

Justsay...I am glad your test was good.  When will you stop the Plaq.?  I hope it is soon as it is hard on the eyes.  That is a drug I am glad I cannot take.

Shelly - I just had my 3-month appt with the rheumy and because my SED went back up again, and again went sero-positive, he is keeping me on it for at least another 2 months.  I seem to flucuate on the very edge of my testing - one time I am just into norms, the next time I am just into the bad side.  Considering some of the numbers I have seen posted in here, I am very very very lucky with the numbers I do get.  I'm having a field vision test next week.  I saw the eye specialist Monday and he checked my eyes and said everything looked good.  The field vision test will just be my baseline for the future.  Can you study for it by playing computer games....
