Using Chantix (what a wonder drug) I am now on day 4.  I have smoked for 35 yrs so if I can do it anyone can that is ready.  I have never went this long nicotine free and love the way I smell

Chantix can cause nausea so I took mine only as I went to bed and never felt bad at all.

CONGRATULATIONS!  Way to go Bonny!  I'm proud of you.

It's so hard to quit smoking.  I smoked for 20 years and quit in January 1995.  I was at 2 packs a day.

I am so excited for you Bonny!  This is wonderful, wonderful news!!!!

Karen

Was it non-stop?? as soon as you put one down did you light up another????  I know you're glad you dont have to worry about that anymore. Congrats to you and to all who have quit.

momofthree39365.7741435185I am so happy for you!

Congratulation and keep up the good work....

I'm going to have to look into this quiting thing myself.
That's wonderful Bonny...You Can Do It!!!

My husband and myself quit in Jan 07 with Chantix...it works miracles. I have not even cheated once. I smoked for 25 years and tried time after time to quite and failed each time, so I was very doubtful that this would work. But it did...

YOU CAN DO IT!!!! More power to you. I smoked 18 years and quit 3.5 months ago. I have no desire whatsoever to start again. Once you get past the ugly "I want to kill the next person who looks at me" phase and past the habit-breaking "I used to smoke in this situation", you're golden. You'll feel so good you won't want to go back at all.Good job. Giving up the old cigs, isn't easy I'm glad to hear about this medication chantix as my son chews tobacco (30 years) and I want him to quit. He wants to quit, but says he can't!! ???? Dang that nicotine it kills people......congratulations. Lynda

Keep it up everyone who has quit and good luck to everyone that is trying to quit!

MOT,

Yes, I was a chain smoker.  It didn't help that my husband and I were friends with another couple and we were "drinking buddies."  I always chain smoked when I drank too.

Good for you!  Keep up the good work.  There is a great forum that I used when I quit 2 years ago, called Quitnet.com -- it helped me get over the really bad times -- everyone is in the same boat -- a wonderful support group.

SInce quitting I haven't felt this good in years, EVEN WITH the aches and pains of RA!

Good luck, Nancy

Hey that's great, Bonny!!  Keep up the good work!!

But Congrats to you I hope you can keep it up.Good on you Bonny, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!! I gave up on 9/3/06, will always remember the date. Whatever life throws at us we can deal with!!!! Proud of you

A big thank you to everyone for your support!

shykymom - Yes you will know.  Do they taste like dirt yet?  They did for me and I use that during an urge.  By the way I was raised in western KY.  I may have told you this already (foggy) but am not sure.  Where are you in KY?

Take care

Bonny, I'm so happy for you. I quit 5 years ago after 35 years. My husband quit with me, which was a tremendous help. I quit with the help of Wellbutrin, and have never wanted to smoke again.

I am proud of you and anyone who can manage to quit. It is not easy, but it is so rewarding!

I found that my hair, clothes and breath were so much fresher! We no longer allow smoking in our home and have repainted, cleaned the carpet, and anything we could to help get rid of 25 years of smoke. What a difference!

Congratulations!!!!

Be well, Nini

I quit Feb 8, 2000. It was the hardest and best thing I ever did.
