They have some really cute...even dressy looking flip flops now a days. Maybe try something like that. Something with some beads on them or something. They'd look cute with a summer type dress.

Good Luck; I know it's frustrating.

It's good to see you Sherry. Hope things have settled down a bit for you.

Dress shoes are the bain of my existence!!

I have very short, very wide feet, bunions and all and dress shoes are impossible for me. Both ankles are fused so heels are not possible. So I wear black pants or a long black skirt so I can get away with some black clogs or in a pinch black sneakers. When you're all one one color on your bottom half no one notices your shoes. Then I wear something colorful up top.

Flip-flops are a great idea too!

I have an entire closet filled with shoes....I never seem to have any that don't hurt someplace or other. How many others of you are shoe nuts?

I too want to dress well and fit in. It is really hard work. Please don't try to wear shoes that hurt you. Sometimes that leads me into an extreme flare - starts in my feet and just flames it's way all over.

It's better to wear shoes you can walk your best in than to try to be stylish and end up unable to walk at all.

There is a great website: footsmart.com. They are having a sandal clearance sale right now. They carry great foot wear, comfortable shoes, and wide widths.  Try a pair of sandals with velcro adj straps, then when your feet improve, you will still be able to wear them. They have a generous return policy if you do not like the shoes.

I have foot issues also.  I am a boot gal.  Always loved boots.  I am so sad, I have like 8 pair of very pricey boots that I love that I cannot wear anymore.  Heels hurt too bad and I need major wide widths now.  I keep telling myself I am going to take my boots in and get them stretched.  Can they stretch them from B to D width and two sizes larger

Mostly flip flops and sandles in the summer though.

And my tennis shoes anytime I can get a way with it....which is rare these days unfortunatly.

just went to a wedding last weekend a wore tongs, that had pretty crystals of every color on them i paid   and it was the best spent in a long time, and i wore a long black sundress. no more wearing closed shoes for me

If all else fails I usually go with a pair a dressy flats or if that's not an option wear your gym shoes til you get to the wedding then slip on a pair of dressy shoes once your in the church or reception hall. I just went to a religious convention 2 wks ago and could not fit any of my heels, and even if I could, can't walk in them more than 2 mins.

Have fun at the wedding. Eat enough cake for me!

I love all kinds of boots Lovie.  I especially would like the heels because it was fun to be close to six foot tall.  I miss wearing them.  I bought a pair of UGHS, they are fun and cozy but I miss wearing my other boots.  I would make it a mission at the after Christmas sales every year, to find me one pair of really cool boots.  No one needs as many boots as I have.  LOL

As Joonie says - I digress.  One of those days.  I am lazy today.  Fun to hang out on this board but no guilt or whining.  That is progress

I came up empty.  I ended up creatively tying ribbons to my feet and tied it off at the ankle.  It was way different -- and even had some people ask me where I got the shoes!  What a hoot!

I hope you have better luck than I did.

I'm loving footsmart.com - thanks for the link!

If your dress is long enough you could wear flip flops under it. They make some really cute slides now. I would wear them even if it wasn't long enough. People will understand when it comes to things like that I have found. They are just glad that you are there and really caring about what your shoes look like.

Go and have a good time.

Peace.

Thanks everyone-I found a pair of slip on shoes in very soft leather-they are off white and have eyelet cutouts around edge. They go with dress well ,thanks for all the help.Sherry

You are welcome for the link.

Let us know how it went.

I know you looked pretty with your new shoes and your painted nails.
