Act Three Final scene | Arthritis Information

Mind and Body enter the waiting room at a rheumy's office and sit down.
One man is already seated, reading magazine. Body slumps in a chair,
arms crossed, with a frown.

Mind turns to Body, says. "You are really grumpy today."
Body: "Yeah, well, that rheumy, and he called Pred a bad guy!" How do we
know this one will be any better? I really don't want to see another
rheumy. What's the point? This is numbner three and the last, as far as I
am concerned.
Mind; "Come on Bod, maybe this will be the one who helps us."

The man already seated looks up and says.... "Hi, names"s Norm."
Body:"Hi, names's Body."
Mind:"Mine is Mind, So, what are you here for, RA ASL SS MS..
Norm: PMR
Mind/Body;"So are we."
Norm: "Having trouble finding a rheumy?"
Body: Are we ever! This one any good?"
Norm "Yes, in my experience. I'm here for a six month check, see if I'm
still doing well."

Mind and Body look at each other with eyebrows raised. Nurse comes in
and beckons to Norm. He rises, look at Mind and Body and says...
"Good luck." and follows the nurse through the door.
Mind and Body look after him, hopefully. Nurse returns, beckons to Mind
and Body. They rise and follow her through the door.

Critic's comment:   "All's well that ends well?"

Libeth,

You sure put it aptly!!!

Don't give up trying to find  another rheumy. I know how hard and frustrating it is. With me, we had so many insurance changes, that I HAD to keep changing doctors. In one case, it turned out to be rather fortunate, as that's when I got to see that leading fibro expert at the teaching hospital - and he agreed with the PMR diagnosis. Through the course of it all, I have seen 5 different rheumatologists, plus my PCP and the nurse practitioner at our regular dr. office (the nurse practitioner was the one who first suggested PMR). After the first rheumy, (and after another year had gone by with no meds and no help), when my PCP asked whether I was ready to see the rheumy again, I told her, yes, but I did NOT want the first one she'd sent me to. He was such a jerk. I am happy with the one I have now. I wish you the same "luck" in getting a good one.

Reni

I have blown through four, and have the name of a possible fifth.

Libeth,

We need the next series!! Dont keep us in suspense!

Seriously I do hope you have found ' the one' and Body and Mind approve.

could we have the whole play in one place?

Maybe the next one could be "PMR Drama on the High Seas"... Libeth writes,
Bob directs, and the rest of us star... Thanks for your responses! I have been toying with the idea of another play,
this one titled "Resurrection" or maybe "Renaisance". I need to gather more
information, though, I need to find another rheumy, one that will help me! If
you would like, I could post the whole "Affliction" play in one place. Let me
know.

Thanks again for your interest! LibethOh definitely, we need your masterpiece in one thread post.  Then you can edit it and expand.  It's too good not to keep at it.  Marvelous writing, and a great read.  You have talent.  Cathy
