methylprednisolone needed..:( | Arthritis Information

Hi All,

I had Remicade 2 weeks ago and had just a few days of relief before I was flaring big-time with RA.  After 4 days I called my rheumatologist and was prescribed a burst of steroids to be taken over the week.  It has been over 3 years since I needed that kind of help.  Does this mean my relief with Remicade is fading?  I hope not as I have found it to be quite wonderful.

I had also forgotten how wonderful that relief feels to take the quick fix of the steroid.  The pain is handled so very well.  I equate the feeling to having been on fire and then being immersed in cool waters.

hope this good feeling lasts when I've taken my last dose of steroids in a couple of days.

greetings to all!  Been so busy at work that I don't log in at home anymore.  hope everyone is doing well and staying cozy now that the temps are sliding in a downward spiral.

Hi - I'm glad I found your post.  I was just about to post regarding Remicade and if anyone else was on it.  I had my first treatment 2 weeks ago and go for the second one tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear you had a flare after the treatment.  I feel that I have too; although, I was thinking that maybe I had pushed myself a little too far lately and that was the reason for the flare.  Now I'm afraid to mention it to my rheumy as I don't want to go back on prednisone.

I was hoping that the Remicade would stop the progression, but I actually have had more pain the last couple of weeks than before, especially in my hands and shoulders.

I'm glad to have found this forum.
