Rituxan and Orencia | Arthritis Information

Right now I am on Remicade, I do not feel as it has done anything for me.  I have already tried enbrel, and humira.  I am still swollen and in pain everyday.  I am pretty sure that Rituxan or Orencia will be the next drug of choice.  Can anyone give me their experience with either of these drugs?  What happens if nothing works?  If it were not for the pain medication that I take everyday and pain patches every other day I would not be able to move.  Has anyone on this board had this or is having this experience?

I failed all the traditional DMAIRD's just recently.  I did not take rituxan as my doctor is worried about that since he said several people have died from it.  I was taking orencia and was half way through my build up dose when I got pulled from it due to some fluid build up in my ankles (I made the mistake of calling orencia and asking if any one else had that problem and they sent a note to my doctor saying he wasn't allowed to give it to me anymore).

My next step is to start particial disability.  I am taking two days a week off to see if that helps.  But, I guess I am headed to full disability before long.

Good luck and I hope something works for you.

Haven't several people died from most of these drugs?  Can you provide some more details regarding Rituxan?

I'm 35 and on drug #3 - so I'm sure I'll try that one eventually.

I know what you mean about trying different drugs.  The orencia was my 5th drug try in the last year or so trying to control this flare.

I don't know what happens as I have just hit that point of nothing working.  In the last week or so, the pain has gotten worse.  It sucks sometimes.
