I was just wondering if anyone on the boards is from Texas?  I live in central Texas in the Hill Country.  I sure hope it cools off soon.

Sandra

Im not from Texas but you can have our cool weather thats for sure, 50s and 60s all week!!! whats it like down your way?I want to be from texas they have some of the best doctors there. My son just got back from houston, I have friends and colleques in Dallas i talk to people from Texas everyday. It is my area that i cover as far as my work goes. Sorry about the heat, my cousin went to Texas to get rid of his cancer. And i heard there is a great specialist For RA in Texas.

It is still in the 90's.  I am so ready for some cooler weather.

Sandra

I’m from Austin--- actually Sunset Valley.  Do you know where that is, off Hwy 290 and 71 in SW Austin?  It’s around Tony Burger Center, the new Khols, and Home Depot on the way to Oak Hill.  We were living in the heart of the hill country for over 30 years ---that is until April '07, when we retired to Panama.  We still have one son who is living in NW Austin, almost on the border with Roundrock.  So, we still have a connection there.  We love it in Panama and are enjoying the warm tropical weather, wonderful people and excellent medical care.  Actually, we feel like we are living in a resort!  But, besides friends, I really miss Wild Wood Café in West Lake Hills for its gluten free chocolate ding-dongs (yum!!!!), and Whole Foods and Central Markets. Oh Yah!  Here we have Organica, a small health food store and a few Chinese markets, but it’s just not the same!  Anyway, I was dx’d since being in Panama, so not much help with rheumy info in Austin.  My general doctor is sending me to a rheumy that I see soon.  My lab numbers are low and I mostly have aching and stiffness.  It makes me feel ashamed when I complain and think of how some of the folks on this board suffer so with RA.   I really feel for them!!!  I hope you have the slow, less-sever kind of RA and not having much pain or flares –better yet, go into remission real soon!

Howdy Sandra!

Yes'em, I'm from Dallas (born and raised), I now live in Burleson just south of Fort Worth.

Weather has been pretty good the last couple of days here, enjoyed the day today by going to "Founders Day" celebration and "Lord's Acre" at church. I am too ready for Fall to come. Where are you exactly in the Hill country? I love the Hill country...very beautiful!!!

Blessed39368.7051851852I'm just north of Dallas... three miles south of Tom Bean Tx.  Been enjoying the cool mornings lately.

Well, I grew up in Oklahoma (live in California now), where Texas is known as "Baja Oklahoma".  I went to OU during a time when beating UT in football was an annual tradition.

Now, now Alan...don't you start on my "Long Horns." Great game!!! Even though we lost.

I go to Dr. Don Cheatum in Dallas.  He diagnosed me when no one else seemed to think there was anything wrong with me.  He has been very kind to me, but is not what I would call a warm fuzzy doctor.  His practice is really busy and appt's take forever.

Yep,  Tom Bean.  Home of "BeanStock" before RA got the best of me...
