Feel I Have Been Away Forever... | Arthritis Information

Hello everyone and hugs to all.

I have missed you.

It is going to take forever for me to catch up.

My pain has been pretty settled since last Wednesday but I have not been pushing my hands to hard by typing excessively...not going to push my luck as earlier last week I felt as if I was going to end up in hospital, I was struggling so much. Yuk.

So I have been kind of holding my breath to see if this better patch is going to last...and it is. I suspect my sustained release morphine has kicked in and leveled my pain out which is exactly what it should be doing. I also have not had to take much oxycodone in the last few days so that is good.

There is still pain but not as much.

I feel completely disconnected here...must read posts...

Oh hunny...it is good to hear from you.  I was thinking last night...I am hoping Cordy is ok and just resting, but was very worried that it had gone the other way.  Yeah!  You have just been being smart.  I wish I had your common sense.

Good job taking care of yourself, and we will get back in touch as you feel better.

love ya, shel

YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cordy's back!!!!!!!

Maybe give yourself a couple of days and just keep current on what has gone on.  I don't know if I would try to catch up persay....I guess I would just try to catch up through PM's, and that sort of thing.  I don't want you to overdo and go backwards, cause it is soooo nice having you back.

Yay!!! Katie! Never one to be quite, my darling, are ya? Nor I.

Yes, am back. Trying to read like 7 pages of posts in 30 minutes.

I just sent you an email to ask how you and Justin are.
Yeah, it's a tad of overload. Good idea, Shel.  Yeah, is there anyone specific that you were wondering how something turned out? I can totally just tell you. I'm nosey like that. LOLOh, I know you are Katiekins....

How's your man, for starters?

Owiedeb?

Blessed?

Justin's WONDERFUL. Got his nasty gallbaldder out YAY! Worked last night and over did it, so now I'm filling in for him tonight. Heeheh MEN, ya know?

Deb - eeehhh not sure for the past couple of days. Before that, she had seen another doc who told her NO, gallbladder and all ducts are just dandy, change your diet. So she was going to do as he said, just to knock it out of the way (so they can rule that out because we ALL know it's her damn gallbladder, poor girl) I hope we'll be hearing from her soon on how it's been going.

Blessed is fighting the pred battle, but hanging in there. It made her a little crazy today, but I think she came through it alright. :)

Lizzie was in the hospital for a few days, another WAAAAYYYY outa control flare. Bedridden and on massive medications. She's home and resting now, and I'm sure if you poke through the boards, you'll see where she's posted that she's going to apply for disability. Which is GOOD for her, it's really the right thing to do now.

Hmmmmm who else????

Hi Cordelia, Glad to see you back. I have been so busy lately with family business that I pretty much have been lurking and thats all. There just doesnt seem to be enough hours in the day. I hope you are on the way out of the horrible flare you have had. I'm working!!! I'm outa here in two hours. Yay! HI Cordy, you are back!!!  Welcome back, glad to hear things are looking up, hope it continues for you, what do you reckon about the RITUXIMAB, do you notice anything yet?  I know it can be hard to tell sometimes but I hope it kicks in for you soon.  Love Janie.XX < =text/>_popupControl(); Awwww Cordy hunny...I am so sorry to hear of all of your pain.  I am glad it is leveling out for you and you are getting some relief from it.  Take your time coming back...we all understand how it is.  Many many hugs to you!!!I have so missed you all.

Yeah, might do what Shelly suggested and just start with the currents and go from there.

Janie, I honestly can't tell about the Rituximab but I would say no. I do have 3 more months before it may possibly kick in. I think this recent leveling is the morph as I am in about half the pain I was.

Waiting...waiting...waiting...sigh...

Liz, you always make one feel hugged from across the pond.

Welcome back, girl!!!

Hi Cordy, My we did miss you girl!, glad you are doing okay.

Love ya, Lynda

At least you have plenty of reading material now - just catching up on:

"As AI Turns"

"The Young and The Listless"

"Arthritic Hospital"

"One Joint to Give"

Welcome back, dear Cordy! So glad to have you back among us!

You really have been missed, as you can see

Morphine was a big help to me for quite a while. As one starts getting used to it, there are many other meds out there. The methadone has worked well for me and not feeling too tired from it. I still take Morphine IR for breakthru pain, up to (4) 30 mg tabs per day.

I hope your meds continue to help and you start feeling better and better each day. I think Shelly had very good advice about starting current and just add more to your reading as you feel able.

Gentle hugs and much love,

Nini

< =text/>_popupControl(); Karen...you crack me up.  I loves yas woman!!!

Cordie...sometimes you have to play with your pain meds to get it right.  I have gone thru a couple of changes in meds to get it right.  When I was in the hospital this last time I tried the fentanyl patches.  Didn't work very well for me even with being on a continous dose of dilaudid with the "panic" button.  But there are others here that get some great relief from the patches.

I started out with just plain ole vicodin...then went to percocet 5/500...then percocet 5/325.  Then had to add a extended release pain med so we added morphine 30mg twice a day with my percocet for break thru pain relief.  Then I had to change again since the morphine just wasn't cutting it for me anymore so I went to 40 mg of oxycontin twice a day with percocet for break thru pain relief.  Now what I do is this and it seems to be working very well...10mg of methadone twice a day....40 mg of oxycontin twice a day...and IF and that is a big IF...I need it..two to three 10/325 of percocet.  We started this little experiment (trial whatever you want to call it) when I came home Thursday afternoon from the hospital.  I'm in Nini's camp with the methadone working very well for me.  I didn't think it would and I really doubted it since it is a very mild narcotic.  Well...how wrong I was!!!  The only real side effect I get from the methadone is the sweats.  YUK

Cordie...just remember...that pain is just the symptom of what is going on.  It is the out of control RA that is the cause and what we need to try and put at bay.  In other words...the usual waiting game waiting for RA meds to hopefully become effective!  It seems there are bunches of us here right now doing that!!!
