Help! Bad Humira shipment | Arthritis Information

Help!  My Humira was delivered at room temperature and it is not working. The company that sent it to me says that it is ok and they won't replace it. They also said I should have complained when it arrived warm. I didn't complain then because I thought it would be ok. My rheumatologist is on vacation until the end of August. What should I do? I have been taking Humira for 2 years and it has been working great. My insurance company contracts with a company that sends me a 3 month supply. Recently this company started packaging the shipment differently and sending it from a different location. The last two shipments seemed warm. Since then my symptoms have gotten dramatically worst. Before I could function but now I am having trouble walking or standing for longer than a few minutes because of the pain. All of my joints are in alot of pain, I am having trouble using my hands and I am having trouble functioning at work. I take Humira weekly and I'm not due for another shipment for 5 more weeks. I keep getting worst. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi lmb,  I would contact my insurance company.  They are paying for it they should be concerned if it is a "defective product".  Have you spoke with your rheumatologist?  I would also contact your rd immediately.  How about contacting Humira?  I would be on the phone constantly until it was resolved.  I am sorry you have to deal with this while you are in pain   Let us know what happens.  I agree with roxy call your doctor or the insurance company...also someone should be in the RA's office while he' s on vacation, no? They're right you should have called right away; but what's done is done. I think the girls are right; call the insurance company. Their the ones paying for it; and if they know that they are sending you defective medication they'll have to take responsability for it.

Also; call your pharm. and see what their thoughts are on it. I would think that this medication would be considered spoiled and not a good idea to use it at all.

I take Humira weekly as well and have been quite pleased with the results. I hope you get everything worked out.

Hope to see more of you here. Welcome to the group.

Welcome lmb1, when my RD is on vacation he always has another Rd on call for him so you might want to call his office and see if he has someone covering his office.
Hope you feel better soon,
Mina

Call your ins company and complain loudly but politely!

Also call the employer who's giving you coverage if ins co doesn't fix the problem right away.
