Ugh STILL sick and on Enbrel | Arthritis Information

 

Ugh, well this is whats going on. a couple weeks ago I got a runny nose, then came the flem (sp). Now the runny nose is gone BUT the damn coughy flem is still here! Now when I take a deep breath my chest aches a bit. Bah, I dont want to get off my enbrel!!!! Do you guys think I should wait this out? Will the coughy flem ever go away? Thanks guys 

GIRLFRIEND~The enbrel is making you sicker!! You won't get well until you've stopped taking it and gotten treatment for whatevers going on.

I don't know if you've been keeping up with my summer drama but I've spent more time in the last month an 1/2 off my meds than on. Earlier this week I had to have a chest x-ray to make sure it wasn't pnemonia. Luckily it's just bronchitis but I've been on three antibiotics to try and get over it.

I don't know if you've been to the GP or not; but if you have and they said it was ok to continue on your enbrel make sure and call your RD. I can almost bet he'll have a different story for you.

Hope you feel better soon Sweetie; and think about what I've said. I'm not just spouting off here J~I'm currently living with the same exact problem. Only I take Humira & MTX. All the biologics carry the same warning though.

I had a summer cold that I could not shake either. I finally went to the doc and he gave me a strong antibiotic and predisone. And I just now am able to catch my breath. Now my hubby is going through it. Seems like they drag on forever. Hang in there.

RLS238583.3191782407REMEMBER THAT RA MEDS ARE STRONG  IMMUNE SUPPRESANTS!!!!  YOUR RHEUMY SHOULD ADVISE YOU TO COME OFF TO HEAL.  PREDNISONE IS USUALLY GIVEN AS A STOP GAP TO AVOID A FLARE.   DON'T WANT TO SCARE ANYONE BUT I HAD MORE THAN MY SHARE OF ILLNESS ON RA DRUGS......PNEUMONIA, TB EXPOSURE, AND MRSA STAPH INFECTION.  ALL OF THESE WERE HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH.  BE SAFE.  IF YOU GET ILL, CALL YOUR RHEUMY AND GET THE PROPER MEDS TO GET WELL AND REMEMBER IT MAY TAKE LONGER TO GET OVER ANYTHING YOU GET.   J-I just started getting a sore throat a couple of days ago and now it's already going into my chest I hardly have a voice, I took my mtx last nite and that's pretty much the only med I'm on.  When I go see my RD next week and I'm not any better I can guarantee you he'll tell me to stop taking it until I'm better, these meds will only keep you down.

There's something in the air in FL...everyone is getting bronchitis or sinusitis...I'm hiding. You really should stop taking the Enbrel and go to your doctor and get an antibiotic- Lovie is right - My doctor took me off the Enbrel when I got dizzy and had the stomach flu.  Once the flu was gone I went right back on the Enbrel.  The Enbrel lessens your immunity to fight of flus, colds and infections.  So you should always stop taking it and go pronto and I mean pronto to the doctor- I also post on another site and one of the gals there had an ear ache a little one that she ignored and ended up in ICU with a really deadly infection.  So do not mess around with this.  It is better to be safe than sorry....
