RH Factor | Arthritis Information

Does anyone know what is considered a Normal RH Factor? My family doctor told me a 14 was normal and I was at 159. I can't find anything on the internet explaining what the factor range means and I'm not sure I really understand it until I talk the the Rheumy at my first appointment. Anyone?

I was also wondering the same thing.  Mine showed up as 243 and I was told normal range is from 0-11.  I also did an internet search on this and came up with nothing.

Welcome to the boards

These manifestations include such things as rhuematoid nodules both internally as well as externally.  Being + myself I tend to get nodules in all sorts of places.  Mercifully all have been external.

In addition people with a + RF also tend to have a more severe form of RA -- not always but very often that is so.

In reality RF+ or - doesn't really make a lot of difference UNLESS you live in the Europe or NZ, or Aus where access to biologics is conditional on having a + RF.  The fact is we have RA and whether we have the antibodies really doesn't matter.

Hope this helps.
