Anyone from Maine? | Arthritis Information

Hi,

Looking for anyone in Maine who has fibro? I must not be the only one. I am originally for Mass. But have lived in Maine for 20 years. My husband and I own our own business... so luckily most times I can leave if I am not feeling well. I have had a whole lot of not feeling well this summer. Finally started Cymbalta and notice a huge reduction in pain. And I am also taking my pain meds. regularly every 6/7 hours. Finally feel like I am in control again. I would love to hear from any other mainers or New Englanders.

Mindy

Hi Mindy, I am originally from ME.  I was diagnosed with Fibro 20 years ago. I currently live in Colorado.  What town do you live in?  My home town is Sanford.   It is good that you can come and go as you please from work.  It gets really hard, especially whe your boss does not understand FMS.  Glad to hear that you are doing ok.  I just had a massive surgery and am in a flare up.  I am hoping that it settles down soon.  Have a good day!

Hi Tess,

I live in the Waterville/Winslow area. I am originally from Massachusetts, but have lived here 20 years. It has been a hot and humid summer. I am anxious for fall. Do you find that the changes in weather have an effect on your pain? Do you get back to Maine often? I love it here, except of course for the winters, wish I was rich and could head south for the winter. Maybe someday.

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your surgery, take care.

Hi Mindy,

Yes, the weather plays a major part in how I feel.   I do better when the barometric pressure in stable and the weahter is warm, not hot.  When storms are moving in, I know before they get here.  Living here in the dryer climate helps.

I don't get back home as often as I would like. I really miss the beaches.  I am hoping to make a trip next summer.  My sister is one of those lucky folks (after lots of  hard work and saving) that goes south for the winter, so I usually visit in the summer.

Hope you  are doing well.  Take care!

Tess
