I found a lot of medical patents that said 'antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial' - but couldn't tell if the Borax was the delivery system or a quality of the ingredient they were trying to patent.
Lots of old 1880's info on how it's an antiseptic.
Stuff today says it's dangerous.
