Well, I guess it's the whole denial thing, but I got up this morning and said come on kids, we're going for a hike in the woods, I'll be fine....HAH. In the middle of out treck my knee started to stiffen up and now that I've been home for an hour or so, my shoulders are really starting to bother me. Guess I showed the RA who's boss huh?

Now you just sit back and relax and let those kids wait on you hand and foot!!

Momma's tired!!

Take care.

HIYUH STACI,

I GOLF EVERY WEDNESDAY IN SPITE OF THE RA, BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT IM GOING TO SUFFER FOR 3 TO 4 DAYS AFTER THE GOLF. MY KNEES,ANKLES, HANDS, WRISTS ETC. REALLY HURT AND I CAN HARDLY WALK DOWN STAIRS. BUT, BY THE FOLLOWING MONDAY I'M READY TO GOLF AGAIN,AND BY WEDNESDAY I'M ON THE FIRST TEE READY TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. MY WIFE THINKS I'M CRAZY TO GO THRU THE SUFFERING, BUT I'M GOING TO LIVE THE BEST WAY MY BODY WILL ALLOW. THIS LIFE IS NO DRESS REHEARSAL.

KEEP ON HIKING OR WHATEVER YOUR BODY ALLOWS AS LONG AS YOU'RE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND MANY PAIN FREE DAYS.

I definitely advocate PLAY!!!!!  I went to the mountains the other day and went swimming all afternoon.  It was so invigorating.  I have "paid" for it ever since but well worth it.  My spirit needed it!  I love what Cris said about how important it is to not define ourselves as this disease.  I am learning my limitations but I like to push them a litle bit

Sheila

Folks I agree!!!  I have learned my limits, but yes I do push, like when I am working in the garden, I do not stop till everything is done.  I know if I stop that is it for me, sure I suffer some, but I make sure to make myself comfortable and make sure the next couple days are easy on the body.  My Rd was so please to see me at my appointment this past week.  He is delighted in the progress I am doing and was saying he could see the difference in my walk, talking, etc from last year!!!   He was happy the meds are doing their job and making my life as normal as possible.  Yes I still have my rough days and nights but they are not as bad as it was last year, but I know they will still come on at times.  I am already planning out my winter gear for my new position in recieving because there are going to be days where it will be like the north pole back there, but I will survive and make it through.  We learn to adjust and make the best of our situations and the is WHAT MAKES US ALL STRONGER!!!!!  Hell if I can make it through this I can make it through anything.  meme

SAME HERE, AFTER BEING OUT OF WORK FOR TWO MONTHS WITH A BAD FLARE AND ASSORTED PROBLEMS, I'M BACK AT WORK.  BEEN WORKING MY BUTT OFF, LONGER HOURS, NOT TAKING LUNCH REGULARLY AND IT CAUGHT UP WITH ME YESTERDAY.  ALL I COULD DO WAS LAY IN BED AND SLEEP.  I PAY EVERYTIME I OVERDO.........Uggg, I raise my hand on the overdoing it. Went to the gym yesterday...haven't been in about a month. I walked 2 miles and over did it...even w/my humira I'm a lil achy today. Not good cuz it's my birthday FEELING GOOD TODAY.....AFTER A DAY AND 1/2 REST THO!!!!  CLEANING, DUSTING, PLAYING WITH THE DOGS, ETC.  PAIN LEVEL AND FATIGUE ONLY ABOUT 35% TODAY.  THAT'S A GOOD DAY FOR ME.   LOTS TO CATCH UP ON.......HAVING "FUN" CLEANING!I know for sure I will not let RA stop me! My friend invited me & my daughter (3) to come camping with her and her daughter, there is no way I could deny my daughter a girls weekend, so off I went! Now I have my hot tub turned up to 101 and I look forward to studying the stars with Hubby Hoping that will ease the RA revenge.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MURPHETTE!!!!!
