Done with the pred | Arthritis Information

Or as my hubby would say, I'm no longer in the predni-zone.

Not that I was ever really on that much, although for a coupla weeks there it was in the 20-25 mg range, but I had problems last time I tried to taper below 2 mg.

But the "good" news is that even the 25 mg dose wasn't helping, so going off it didn't make too much difference.  Yesterday was my first day totally pred-free, and I am zombie tired this afternoon.  But that could also be from the pain affecting my sleep this weekend.

I am glad to be off the stuff.  Hopefully I can find some relief with Rituxan & Immuran and never be on pred again.  Now if I could just be infection-free and find a time when I could get the Rituxan...

InnerGlow39377.5778587963Happy for you, Innerglow

good luck SUZANNE AND LYNDA ON STAYING OFF OF THE J

PREDNISONE. < =text/>_popupControl(); Glad you are off the pred..."predi-zone" lol.  I like that.  Mind if I tell that one to Danny and use it?  LOL!!  He would totally agree with your hubby on the predi-zine thing lol.

You will probably be a aombie for the next couple of days while your body adjusts to not having the pred.  Please don't discount it as Joon said for short courses for those short flare ups.

Oh I would never rule it out, but seeing how it did absolutely nothing for me during these last few weeks, I'm wondering if it would do any good for a short time.

Feel free to use the "predni-zone".  My hubby will be delighted!  You can even sing it like he does, to the tune of Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone".

Congrats!

And that is sooooo funny!

Hi, I had my cortisol checked because i'm so tired when I go off the prednisone. so I'll see what the result means. Lynda

Prednisone is not even an option for me. I went into a flare while my Rheumy was on vacation (I didn't think they were allowed) and was told by his staff to see my G.P.

He didn't want to start anything new, but we agreed that a course of Prednisone might ease the pain.

Good news: it releived almost all the pain. Bad news: my blood sugar went throught the roof, and caused other problems. so now I am off of it and we are trying Plaquinal to see if it will help. it's been three weeks now, and no improvement, but my rheumy said maybe up to eight weeks before any difference show up.

Yeah, I can hardly wait...

Congratulations!!!
