Sores and pain on and in feet | Arthritis Information

Hi All...(o;

  I have had ra for about 3 years now and am on prednisone and methotrexate and it has helped considerably. However I moved a few months ago and am still waiting to get into a gp, let alone an rheumy. I have had sores on the balls of my feet for quite some time now, but lately they are just KILLING me, making it really hard to walk etc. Can anyone tell me what this might be, and how I can maybe deal with it until I get into a new rheumy? My feet are deforming slowly, but it's these stupid sores that really kill..Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wish I could help you out.  The pain may be coming from your big toe joint.  The ball by the big toe will hurt when the joint is painful.  You might have spurs or neuromas or like I said it may be inflammation from the joint.  You can't tell what it is until you've seen a doctor.  C

Is there anyway you can get an appt. sooner?  Keep calling every day.  Remember the squeaky wheel?  Call your past doctors and explain the situation to them and see if they can  get a referral appt. for you.  I know that it's really difficult for Canadians to get appts. in some of the provinces but keep trying.  Your health depends on it.  Lindy

If you can't get you in right away, why not go to a clinic.  The doctor there might be able to get things going a bit faster.  Also try what LinB mentioned.  Call your past doctors...let them know what's going on with your feet.

Well thankyou both for your advice!  I guess you are right, I should try calling my previous Doctors. I am just one of those people that hate bothering anyone...lol.  I never thought of spurs or anything like that, but my foot joints are definately sore as well so I guess that is a possibility

                                          Thanks again,

                                            Cori!

BOTHER SOMEONE. DO you mean you have actual open sores on your feet?
