Jedi Mind Tricks: My TCM Appointment | Arthritis Information

So, like I posted last week I decided to try some Traditional Chinese
Medicine because my extended insurance will cover a certain amount
every year so I thought I would just use it and see what happens. I had my
first appointment today and I think it went quite well. I like the
practitioner and she seemed pretty confidant in what she was doing (I
believe I don't have to believe in stuff for it to work, so if she's doing the
believing for me that's just great!) She did some accupunture on my legs
and a bunch of other stuff like EPD and JMT. I call JMT "Jedi Mind Tricks"
but it really stands for Jaffe-Mallor Technique "The Jaffe-Mellor
Technique (JMT) includes an advanced muscle testing method,
desensitization, deactivation, intervention, and acupressure." (http://
www.jmttechnique.com/) It was a lot of "talking to my body" and
activating pressure points and realigning energy and stuff. Some of it was
really emotional and I cried a bit. I didn't understand a lot of what she
did, and she told me a lot of information but it was so much I could only
retain some of it.

I can't really tell if I feel better after the visit, because I've been feeling
really good for the last few days anyway, but I intend to keep going for a
while and see what happens.

By the way, I enjoyed that the practitioner had an actual bottle labelled
"Snake Oil" on display in her office---haha! She said it was doubly ironic
because in TCM toxins were (I don't know if they still are) used to fight
toxins.

I had been wondering what TCM stood for

I am hoping this will enhance your current treatments.  It sounds interesting if nothing else...thanks for posting.

< =text/>_popupControl(); Sounds great! I hope this works out for you!  JMT is a little like bio feed..only it seems JMT goes more in depth.  I am hoping you find relief with TCM!  I'm dying to try accupuncture!  Gonna talk to the pain specialtist when I see her ..... maybe she knows of a good one!  Good luck!!!
