collar bone pain | Arthritis Information

Ok last post for the night then I am heading to my bed and take another pain pill.

Anyone ever have horrid pain in their collar bone? Not like where the bone meets other bones, but in the middle of the bone?

Yes. It hurts a LOT. Are you sure it is not at a joint? There is a joint about midway on the collar bone. Plus pain can radiate. Look up collarbone online and you will see where the joint is.

Laker

I've just gotten over a severe bout of pain in that area..

How it started was that I went to bed feeling OK but needed to get up two hours later for a pee.
I could not lift my head up off the pillow, the pain just bit so much I let out a loud yelp.
I thought that I had some how ricked my neck but once on my feet , could move my head in all directions.
This has taken 5 days to abate...

A lot of strange things are starting to happen lately like above and throbbing right upper arm. Feels muscular but affects the shoulder as well.
Walk around with a drooped right shoulder, not a good look.
Joonie, are you just a pain ball, at the moment woman?

Joonie....I have had that pain, it hurts like H***! Mine is kinda crunchy too! When I can raise my arm it crunches terrible....what does that mean? I'm kinda afraid to ask????

I hope you feel better soon.......

Yes I have it right now. Horrible pain....*raises hand*

I know why you hurt.

Ok Laker... I looked up a pic of a collar bone, and no that is not where it hurts... it is actually more two toward the sternum. Maybe and inch or toward from the sternum.

Well, I am glad I am not the only one. Shew!

Bodak - I am sorry you have it that bad. Mine is not that bad, but it does hurt. Who would have thought RA would effect your collar bone?

As for everyone else I am sorry you can even relate to it. It is horrible pain. I hope ya'll's eases up soon. If not pop pain meds like I have been doing and sleep the pain away.

I am afraid to even ask Katie "why?". I am sure I already know the answer, but I guess since she raised her hand.

Why, Katie?

Hi joonie,

i get big pains in my chest and collar bones and shoulders, Dr says it's because of the inflammation attacking the insertions (where tendons insert into the bones) which is often just along the bone from the joint rather than in the joint itself. It's v v v painful... Hot bath and tramadol is the only answer for me - luckily not had it for a while... Depo-medrone injection was the last resort last time it got really bad.. Hope you're feeling better soon!

KT

Thanks KT

Yeah, it went away. Now it just feels sore. I guess it is from laying on it, because I lay on my right side and that is the collar bone that was hurting.

I think it is this cold weather that is wreecking havoc on me. I feel the cold and it just makes me ache.

It is still 90 in Phoenix. When I lived in Wisconsin I was always bundled up. It helps.it is 65 degrees outside. [QUOTE=joonie]
